Aunt Vivian invites one of her star pupils, Kayla Samuels, to dinner at the banks house. Will, who has not gotten a girl in some time, quickly takes a liking to her; she initially rebuffs his advances, but this quickly turns into Belligerent Sexual Tension. Will and Kayla then start dating, but run into issues due to being at different stages in life.
Tropes:
- Brilliant, but Lazy: Kayla starts embodying this trope after dating Will, with her grades taking a noticeable nosedive. Aunt Viv knows that she has the ability to do well, but that her spending time with Will is causing her to lose focus and effort.
- Covert Pervert: Geoffrey makes some salacious comments to a woman over the phone when he thinks he's alone in the living room. Given that he quickly changes the subject after seeing Philip, Hilary and Ashley nearby, his intents do not appear to have been misunderstood.
- Feigning Intelligence: In his first interaction with Kayla, Will tries to act like he understands the Shakspeare works she is reading. Kayla immediately sees through it and calls him out on it.
- Hidden Depths: Vivian reveals at the end of the episode that she dropped out of high school and so had to work extremely hard to get to the position she is now, which is why she doesn't want Kayla to lose focus on her schoolwork.
- I Want My Beloved to Be Happy: Will doesn't break up with Kayla, but reluctantly agrees to try to spend more time away from her to help her focus on schoolwork. Kayla doesn't take this too well at first, but a talk with Vivian helps the two of them reconcile.
- Not So Above It All: Kayla acts like a well-behaved, straight-laced young woman during her first visit to the Banks house, but the next time she comes over, her Belligerent Sexual Tension with Will causes her to engage in a war of petty insults with him.
- Sesquipedalian Loquaciousness: Kayla has a large vocabulary and she's not afraid to use it in conversation; Will is initially overwhelmed but notes how attracted he is to it after he and Kayla get together.
- Slap-Slap-Kiss: Essentially where the episode's title comes from. Will and Kayla hurl yo-mama jokes and general insults at each other before an embrace that marks the start of their relationship.
