Dawson Casting: P.R. Paul, who plays 14-year-old (and budding juvenile delinquent) Andy Slocum, was 26(!) when this episode was filmed ... a full four years older than John Schneider (who played Bo).
Shout-Out: To what else — the Big Brothers Big Sisters of America. This was perhaps episodic television's best tribute (and best episode all told) honoring the charitable mission of this mentoring program.
Treacherous Advisor: There are two other men who are also hoping to get to Andy and influence him – and those are Boss' latest associates, bank robbers Barney and Norman, who realize their stash of ill-gotten cash has somehow made its way to the Duke farm, and if Andy can get it to them, they'll give him a nice cash award. (Or so they promise; all they intend to do is leave him and the Duke boys holding the bag when Rosco shows up to seize the evidence and file federal bank robbery charges.) This leaves Bo and Luke to shield Andy from the robbers and help him do the right thing.
