• A Day in the Limelight: To the Duke of Windsor's valet Sydney Johnson, when he's hired by Mohamed Al-Fayed; at first to teach him the ways of the British aristocracy, but then his final days are shown under Al-Fayed's care as an honorary family member.
• Dying Alone: The Duchess of Windsor is said to have died as such, being a widow for 14 years and suffering from dementia, with very few people to visit her (though Charles and Diana did visit her in Real Life) and with only her nurses to care for her.
• Flashback with the Other Darrin: Even though Wallis's funeral takes place during the timeframe of Season 4, Charles, Diana, Margaret, the Queen Mother, Phillip, and Elizabeth are played by their Season 5-6 actors instead of their Season 3-4 actors.
• Together in Death: Wallis is buried next to the Duke of Windsor.
