Go To

Bend It Like Abuelo: Hector finally joins his dream soccer team as their good luck charm.

Bunstoppable: While preparing bao for the Chinese Cultural Fair, Sid and Adelaide face off against time-hopping bandits.

"Bend It Like Abuelo" contains examples of:

  • Good Luck Charm: The Gatos soccer team considers Hector to be lucky, so they rub his bald head before each soccer game. By the end of the episode, however, it is revealed that what makes Hector lucky are his jalapeño chonies.

"Bunstoppable" contains examples of:

  • All Part of the Show: A hipster couple mistakes the bandits for historical reenactors, even as they're being brutalized by them.
  • Big, Thin, Short Trio: The three bandits from the story consist of Woo (Big), Yi (Thin), and Hui (Short).
  • Cheaters Never Prosper: Sid and Adelaide don't want to spend too much time making 800 bao, so they attempt to take a shortcut via an assembly line. This renders their bao useless and inedible and makes the bandits who try it even more angry than before.
  • Chekhov's Classroom: The story of the Chang family bao and Stanley's instructions on how to make proper bao prove very useful when some time-traveling bandits demand some food.
  • A Day in the Limelight: For Sid and Adelaide.
  • Rule of Three: Sid and Adelaide offer the bandits three different foods, all of which pale in comparison to the bao; pizza (which doesn't energize their bodies), hot dogs (which don't delight their eyes), and ice cream sundaes (which gives them brain freeze, which they mistake for a sneak attack).
  • Seesaw Catapult: When the time rift opens near the end of the episode, Sid and Adelaide send Yi, Woo, and Hui back through it by having them stand on one end of a seesaw as they jump onto the other end, launching them into the air.
  • Tears of Joy: Stanley gets like this at the thought of his daughters making the Chang family bao.
  • Terrible Trio: Yi, Woo, and Hui, the three bandits from the story, who are brought to Great Lakes City through a time rift.
