Go To

I Was King of the Heffalumps: After losing the nerve to speak up at a group meeting, Piglet has a dream where he encounters a kingdom of Heffalumps who begin to look to him as their leader.

Tigger's Club: Tigger is so excited about joining a club that he forces his friends to join it against their will.

I Was King of the Heffalumps contains examples of:

  • An Aesop: Don't be afraid to speak up in a group meeting, you're there because people are open to hear your opinion.
  • Big "SHUT UP!": After finally losing patience with being ignored in the group meetings, Piglet belts out a very loud "STOOOPP!!!". Expectedly if everyone is left in stunned silence.
  • "Could Have Avoided This!" Plot: Downplayed. Piglet lacked the confidence to voice his opinion during the somewhat agitated group meeting, but the others were perfectly willing to listen to him from the start.
  • Honorable Elephant: The Heffalumps, despite usually being characterized as the natural enemy of the Hundred-Acre-Wood residents (when they're real), turn out to be perfectly friendly and kind creatures. They're only agitated because of their cold feet, and once Piglet solves the problem by knitting them house shoes, they worship him as their king.
  • Shout-Out: The Heffalumps only speak two phrases: "Mama say mama so mama coosa" (taken from the 1979 song "Makoosa" by Dibango) and "boom shakalakalaka" from "I Want to Take You Higher" by Sly and the Family Stone.
  • Took a Level in Badass: Piglet gains the confidence from his dream to actually speak up at the group meeting.

Tigger's Club contains examples of:

  • An Aesop: You can't force people to take on a hobby or join a group they're not interested in. Respect their interests and needs and you can form a club with like-minded people.
  • It's All About Me: Tigger wants others to participate in his club, so he orders them all to come. While his friends do show up as requested, their numbers start dwindling after they don't enjoy their time. Tigger then lies to get everybody to come.
  • Minimalist Cast: Downplayed. Despite the limited cast of characters, it's established that there are radio shows Tigger listens to and apparently a "real" fictional hero who mails Tigger back.
