Philip tells Stan he has to join Elizabeth for work, so he flies out to Chicago while Stan drops Henry off at the train station. In Chicago, Philip joins Elizabeth, who's happy to see him. They put together the operation to extract Dan Murton (Jonathan Kells Phillips), aka Harvest. On the day in question, Elizabeth and Philip are able to extract Murton, but they get in a shoot-out with the FBI agents there, which ends up killing the people Elizabeth and Philip were working with, and Murton ends up mortally wounded as well, though he tells Philip the sensor schematic is in Paris. Elizabeth and Philip get rid of the evidence and are able to flee Chicago. However, Stan has become suspicious again of Elizabeth and Philip, going so far as to sneak into their house, and reminisces of the dying William telling him of the couple of Illegals he worked with: a couple with two children, living the American Dream, her being pretty and him being lucky. Stan investigates the garage, the bedrooms and the basement, but finds nothing suspicious. Elizabeth tells Paige, who wants to follow in her mother's footsteps, she needs to apply for an internship at the State Department if she's serious about wanting to make a difference.
This episode contains examples of:
- Call-Back: Henry tells Stan about the time Paige went to visit their "Aunt Helen", whom he admits he never met.
- Stan remembers a dying and delirious William telling him about the couple he worked with, with their two children, living the American Dream. He also pulls the files on Joyce's murder.
- Continuity Nod: Elizabeth draws on the plane ride back, and when Philip looks at it, she says it's something she's been doing while taking care of Erica.
- Cyanide Pill: Murton has one of these as well, and Philip sees Elizabeth's, though she refuses to tell him why she has one.
- Even Bad Men Love Their Mamas: As he's dying while in the van, Murton asks Philip to tell his mother that he loved her and hoped he made her proud (his father, on the other hand, he hopes rots in hell).
- Man Hug: Philip hugs Stan before he takes off to join Elizabeth in Chicago.
- Metaphorically True: When Stan, worried about Philip, asks what's wrong, Philip says he's worried about his business failing, which definitely is something he's worried about, but that's not what's worrying him at the moment Stan is asking.
- Off with His Head!: Philip chops off the head and the hands of Marilyn so she can't be identified.
- Road Block: Once Elizabeth and Philip are able to extract Murton, the FBI set up a road block to stop them. Elizabeth and Philip get away, but Murton is dead, and so are several FBI agents.
- Shout-Out: Patti Smith's "Broken Flag" plays when Elizabeth dumps a bag with "Marilyn's" head and hands into the water.
