Pajuna introduces the concept of coin tossing to San Lorenzo, and the town is soon overtaken with gambling fever.
Tropes:
- Absurdly High-Stakes Game: Dulcinea arguably puts the fate of the world on the line in a final coin toss. Subverted in that said coin is a Two-Headed Coin, but Dulci was the only one who knew that.
- Aliens Never Invented the Wheel: Played With in that the San Lorenzans (and Puss) have never encountered coin tossing or other games of chance before the events of this episode.Pajuna: I guess San Lorenzo really was cut off from the outside world.
- Are You Pondering What I'm Pondering?: After San Lorenzo is overrun with thieves, Dulcinea asks Artepheus this and he suggests that they start up what essentially amounts to a finishing school of sorts to show the thieves the error of their ways, disguised as a school for improving one's skill at coin toss. She admits that she was just going to bake some cookies, but that his idea is much better.
- Breather Episode: The looming threat of the Bloodwolf isn't even mentioned.
- Continuity Nod: When thieves attack her, Dulcinea grabs a broom and uses the capo ferro parrying technique Puss taught her to disarm them.
- The Gambling Addict: Puss becomes one in what has to be record time.
- Gone Horribly Right: Dulcinea and Artepheus are a bit too successful at reforming the three thieves they sucker in with their fake offer of coin toss lessons, turning them into Knights Templar who vow to purge the coin tossing from the town.
- Hidden Depths: Dulcinea gets rid of coin toss by putting the fate of the entire town on one last coin toss game. Puss is surprised she would take a huge risk like that, Dulcinea reveals her coin is a Two-Headed Coin, which Puss finds even more surprising.Dulcinea: You don't know everything about me, Puss.
- Serious Business: Coin Toss becomes so big people start coming from all over to play.
- Strip Poker: Puss antes his hat, boots and sword in a coin toss game and loses them all.
- Swiss-Cheese Security: The Sphinx starts a ferrying service so she can fly thieves up and down the Bloodwolf statue so they can play coin toss.
