Directed by: Roy Burdine

Written by: Tad Stones

Jack Sprat has come back to town, and he has his eyes set on the Seven League Boots and the treasures of San Lorenzo.

Tropes:

  • Artifact of Doom: The Seven League Boots are powered by the Devil Wind, a gold hungry tornado that is let loose with excessive use of the boots.
  • Chained Heat: As Jack is the only one that knows how to defeat the Devil Wind, but cannot be trusted not to run off with the Seven League Boots, Puss ties him and Jack together three legged race style and they take one Seven League boot each.
  • Didn't Think This Through: The Devil Wind can be defeated with the Seven League Boots, so Puss trains with them to learn how to properly use them, but never really bothers to learn how exactly he is supposed to defeat it.
  • Instant Expert: Subverted. Jack appears to be able to use the Seven League Boots perfectly the instant he puts them on, but that is because he had been meditating and preparing himself for it for years prior. When Puss tries them on, he has trouble controlling them and similarly has to spend quite a while practicing and getting used to them.
  • Literal Metaphor
Puss: Señor wind! Return to me now that which is not yours, or taste the blade of Puss in Boots!
[the devil wind sucks up Puss' rapier]
Puss: You tasted it! You really just sucked it up right up in there!
  • One Size Fits All: Unlike the Gauntlet of Chirotheca, the Seven League Boots can change size to fit their owner, allowing Puss to use them. He even wears them over his regular boots!
  • Possession Implies Mastery: Puss assumes that since he's spent most of his life wearing boots, he should be able to instantly master wearing any boots.
  • Sticky Situation: Puss exploits a Logical Weakness and stops the super speedy Jack with glue. Later so does Dulcinea, much to her enjoyment.
  • Super-Speed: What the Seven League Boots allow.
