Recap / The 100 Girlfriends Who Really Really Really Really Really Love You Ch 148

Go To

Rentarou arrives on the roof, apologizing for being late. Uto approaches him in an unusually affectionate way, assuring him that the wait was no trouble.

Rentarou, still wearing a smile, immediately demands to know what's wrong. The ditzy maiden "Uto" insists that nothing's wrong, but the way she claims to be dizzy and falls into Rentarou alerts him that she's actually Hakari. Hakari is impressed that he noticed so quickly, but Rentarou is sure the readers noticed just as quickly.

The girls all decided to swap bodies to show Rentarou fresh new sides of themselves so they don't fall into a rut (which Rentarou doesn't think will happen even when he becomes old and senile), planning to reaffirm his feelings for them when they return to their normal bodies. Rentarou is moved and plans to enjoy their new faces.

He notices that Ahko's smile is gone, but she's cute even when she's pouting. The tsundere "Ahko" (Karane) protests that she's not happy to hear that. Eira calls for him to look at her, insisting that she's the real Eira even after missing a ball thrown at her. The pure and unrestrained "Eira" (Kusuri) is quickly distracted by a cat chasing the ball. The cat's appearance frightens the scaredy-cat Momiji (Eira), but she regains her nerve when Kusuri kicks the ball at Rentarou, revealing the capoeirista Momiji (still Eira).

The ball rolls to a cat "Hakari" (Tama), who says that she loves playing with balls. Karane shouts at Hakari that it sounds dirty when she says it, despite the fact that it wasn't actually her who said it. A narcissistic Mei (Mimimi) calls her beautiful cat but insists that she's not as beautiful as her. Rentarou is impressed by her self-affirmation as Tama hits the ball away. Mimimi notes that it's difficult to see, but insists on walking... and ends up stepping on the ball, sending her flying. Fortunately, she is caught by a perfect maid Mai (Mei), who has also been preparing tea for everyone.

A little sister Hahari (Mai) squeals over how graceful Mei is in her body. She walks over to help, but ends up tripping. Mei manages to catch her, and warns her in a threatening tone to take care of Hahari's body. This appears to frighten "Kusuri", but as it turns out, she's more worried about her bangs. She wants to hide her face, but knows she shouldn't. The super-shy Kusuri (Meme) wants to show off Kusuri's new face to Rentarou. A cool-headed Naddy (Nano) suggests thinking of it as peeling Kusuri's face off and putting it on her own body.

Someone begins shouting in strange English. Nano can speak English just fine, but that doesn't mean Naddy can. The American Yaku (Naddy) is undeterred and calls herself American before singing the American National Anthem - "We Wish You A Merry Christmas". When Kusuri points out that that's the wrong song, Yaku decides to eat a Big Mac to make it even more American. She asks if anyone has one, but a Big Mac isn't exactly candy. Even Americans don't walk around with Big Macs in their pockets. The mention of Big Macs provokes the wrath of a hangry Meme (Kurumi).

Rentarou offers her a manjuu bun, but Kurumi insists that only a Big Mac will do (not that this stops her from eating it). Karane isn't sure how to help. It's not like they can just pull a Big Mac out of thin a-

The boyish "Kurumi" body pulls one out of her pocket. It turns out that the real Kurumi DOES keep Big Macs in there.

Rentarou is confused. Both Iku and Uto have what could be considered "boyish charm", so which one is in Kurumi's body?

As the chapter ends, Nano muses that the author probably just wanted to force a cliffhanger.

  • Foreshadowing: When wondering over whether or not it's Iku or Uto in Kurumi's body, Kusuri notes that it'll be obvious who it is if she kicks her in the butt. This is indeed how the truth is revealed next chapter.
