Mimimi reveals that she has been scouted by the muse-ical club (functionally the drama club). The lead actress for the club's latest play didn't meet their beauty standards, which led to them asking Mimimi for help. Mimimi, seeing an opportunity to make her beauty famous, naturally accepted.

A few days later, however, Mimimi is finding that she's struggling to keep up with the club members in acting. Rentarou suggests practicing by imitating the people close to her. Mimimi does an excellent job acting as the various family members (even if pretending to be Nano makes her embarrassed) and she finds that the exercise has helped her greatly, inspiring her to continue with the play.

The day before the performance, however, she suddenly drops out. The others are confused until Uto reads the script and reveals that a kiss scene was added to the final stanza.

Most of the muse-ical club insists that they take the kiss out so that Mimimi will return, but the club president is adamant that she'll return. After all, she's just as beautiful as they are.

Rentarou steps away for a moment, taking a walk in the mountain to vent his feelings about the situation. The thought of Mimimi kissing someone she doesn't love is very distressing for him. When he returns to the roof, however, he encourages Mimimi to go through with the play. She's worked hard and he doesn't want her to bow out for his sake. Mimimi assures him that it was her own decision and that the thought of offering her lips to anyone but him disgusts her. She instead asks that he share his true feelings with her, and Rentarou admits that he doesn't want her to do the kiss.

The two go to the muse-ical club to affirm Mimimi's decision and the club president agrees to cut the kiss.

The next day, Mimimi is all dolled up for the play. In fact, she's so beautiful that the club members are too intimidated to go on stage with her, forcing her to ad-lib until Rentarou realizes what's going on. He tries to threaten the club into going on stage, but the club president simply tells him to do the play.

Rentarou proceeds to do exactly that, playing every single role outside of Mimimi's. At the end of the play, Mimimi ends up putting the kiss back in.

The play is a success, but it ends up making Rentarou famous (as the 16-role-man) rather than Mimimi. She doesn't seem to mind, however.

Tropes:

  • Abilene Paradox: Defied. Rentarou attempts to swallow his feelings about the play because he doesn't want Mimimi to drop out of it for his sake. Mimimi firmly tells him that it was her own choice and urges him to tell her the truth rather than bend over backwards to try appeasing her.
  • Acting for Two: In-universe, Rentarou ends up playing every single role in the play aside from Mimimi's. He has to walk offstage and change costumes every time a new character enters the story.
  • Berserk Button: Most of the family takes Mimimi's imitations of them in good humor. Momoha, however, doesn't want anyone to be like her even for acting practice. Kishika is pleased when Mimimi imitates her knightly self, but tells her to stop when she imitates her infant self.
  • Oblivious to Their Own Description: Iku, meanwhile, is just confused when Mimimi imitates her "oof!"
  • Playing a Tree: Rentarou ends up playing three trees.
  • So Beautiful, It's a Curse: Despite having scouted Mimimi for her beauty, the muse-ical club is so intimidated by it that none of them have the nerve to go out on stage.
  • Stepping Out to React: Upon hearing that Mimimi intends to drop out of the muse-ical club's play due to the club president insisting on including a kiss scene where Mimimi kisses a fellow actor (i.e. the president), Rentarou calmly leaves the roof and ventures into a nearby forest, where he throws a tantrum over not wanting Mimimi to kiss someone she doesn't love.
