Donatello finds himself in a dicey situation when The Butcher's Gang kidnaps the other Turtles and Splinter. He and April O'Neill must work together if they're going to save their friends and stop Shredder from getting his hands on the Maltese Hamster, a statue containing a formula for a super fuel that he plans to use to re-power the Technodrome.
Tropes
- Arson, Murder, and Jaywalking: After the turtles defeat the Butcher and his gang, Donatello states that they’ve received a collective sentence of 874 years for robbery, racketeering, and tearing tags off mattresses.
- Artifact of Doom: Not the Maltese Hamster itself, but the super fuel formula it contains.
- Mr. Exposition: The Butcher is weirdly accommodating in explaining to Donatello the origins of the Hamster.
- Noir Episode: The trenchcoat and fedora outfits the Turtles are wearing cause Donatello to act like he's in one of these, complete with providing his own narration.
- Overly Narrow Superlative: The super fuel's creator is described as "The best scientist in Malta. He's also the only scientist in Malta."
- Shout-Out: April asks "How Much Is That Hamster in the Window?" When she sees the statue.
- Whole-Plot Reference: The plot and title has a resemblance to The Maltese Falcon.
