As Scott, Lydia, Malia, and Stiles's final days of high school come to a close, a new threat rides into Beacon Hills, and it has its sights set on Stiles—specifically, erasing him from everyone's memory. Liam tries to convince the others that he is ready for Scott to leave and for him to become the new alpha in Beacon Hills. And a new type of killer emerges in Beacon Hills High, taking out part of people's brains.
Tropes
- Distracted by My Own Sexy: Though this trope has begun to characterize her less and less as the series progresses, Lydia displays it once in this episode when she catches a glimpse of her eyeshadow in the mirror and makes a comment about it while looking for clues with Stiles. Stiles promptly asks her to stay on topic.
- Info Dump: Liam and Hayden do a bit of this in the Cold Open, talking about how many dates they've gone on (and had ruined) during the break between seasons 5 and 6.
- Nudity Tropes for Malia (because there's just so many):
- Innocent Fanservice Girl: Malia enjoys doing this due to the fact that she spent 8 years as a coyote, and clothes are quite inconvenient to her. She has little care to recognize that most people consider nudity taboo.
- Naked on Arrival: In Malia's first appearance in this episode, she's naked.
- Our Nudity Is Different: This episode is the first episode following Malia gaining the ability to fully shift into a coyote, and it is therefore the first time we see her after she (and everyone else) has gotten used to her shifting back and forth. The rest of the characters seem to be fine with it and treat it as normal.
- Shameless Fanservice Girl: Malia just does not care about the general public seeing her when she's naked.
- Shoulders-Up Nudity: Most of the shots of Malia when she's naked only show her shoulders-up.
- Victory Is Boring: Stiles appears to have this belief, wanting for something supernatural to happen in Beacon Hills so that he and Scott can have some action. Stiles doesn't want things to return to normal in Beacon Hills because he wants Beacon Hills to still need them.
- Weird West: The first half of season 6 features the Ghost Riders of the Wild Hunt as the main villains, and this is the first episode to show them. They use Old West-style pistols, crack whips, wear cowboy hats, and ride black horses—oh and also, they have the ability to erase people from memory.
