Zack Snyder's Teen Titans
The Titans, wanting their 365th episode to be extra special, head to the Warner Bros. studio lot to find Zack Snyder and have him direct it.

Tropes

  • Adam Westing:
    • Zack Snyder voices himself and pokes fun at himself throughout.
    • Patrick Wilson also appears and is shown to be able to turn into Nite-Owl and Ocean Master on command.
  • Affectionate Parody: For much of Zack Snyder's filmography and style, especially his DC films.
  • Art Shift: Robin's Imagine Spot has the team drawn in a more realistic art style similar to that of the DC Universe Animated Original Movies.
  • As Himself: Zack Snyder and Patrick Wilson.
  • Battle in the Rain: Robin's dream of the team fighting Darkseid and his forces has them fighting in a storm at one point. Lampshaded when Starfire asks why it's raining and Cyborg replies that it looks cool.
  • The Cameo: Aside from Zack Snyder, Patrick Wilson also lends his voice.
  • Shout-Out: A whole bunch of these for Zack Snyder's filmography.
    • The hungry extras in zombie make-up chasing after the team is one to Dawn of the Dead (2004) and Army of the Dead.
    • Raven kicking a Jerkass security guard into a sewer hole is done just like how King Leonidas kicks the messenger in 300, complete with her shouting, "This! Is! TITANS!"
    • A few to Zack Snyder's Justice League.
      • The scene of the team fighting in an underground sewer and Starfire swirling around flying in slow motion to get Robin his grappling gun back to him while he's falling, much like how the Flash gives Wonder Woman her sword back to her while running through the speed force, is one for the Justice League's fight with Steppenwolf in the Gotham Harbor sewers.
      • Robin's Imagine Spot of the Titans fighting Darkseid and a legion of parademons is based on the "History Lesson" scene.
    • Patrick Wilson notes how he's played both Nite Owl in Watchmen (2009) and Orm in Aquaman (2018). If he'd also mentioned his little voiceover cameo as the President of the US in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, it would have completed the trifecta.
