Recap / Teen Titans Go S 6 E 39 Lucky Stars

Go To

After they suffer from horrible luck, Raven teaches the Titans about astrology and horoscopes in order to explain what's causing it, but Cyborg refuses to play along.

  • Anthropomorphic Personification: The embodiment of Astrology itself manifests to fight against Cyborg for calling it nonsense.
  • Astrologer: Raven claims to have this power, which drives the plot.
  • Companion Cube: After Starfire's horoscope states that she'll find romance soon, she goes on a date with Robin and ends up falling in love with the beef wellington he serves her, to the point that they end up engaged.
  • Flat-Earth Atheist: Cyborg adamantly refuses to believe in astrology, even when Raven, a skilled practitioner of magic, insists that horrible things will occur to nonbelievers, or when Robin suddenly gets a growth spurt that makes his head hit the ceiling. This changes after he upsets Astrology itself to the point that he has to believe in it to fight on equal footing... only to immediately doubt the next prediction Raven makes and get run over by a train because of it.
  • No Ontological Inertia: When Cyborg gets fed up with Raven's astrology talk, he rips her book on the subject in half, completely vaporizing all of the good fortune the Titans had gained by following it like Robin's longer legs and the suit of money Beast Boy had made from his recent stock market earnings.
  • Shout-Out: When Cyborg realizes he has to believe in Astrology to stand a chance to fight back against a physical version of it, the planets charge him with power and transform him into Captain Planet.
