Recap / Teen Titans Go S 6 E 40 Various Modes Of Transportation

Go To

Cyborg and Robin go on a road trip.

  • The Cameo: Cartoon versions of Steve Martin and John Candy's characters from Planes, Trains and Automobiles appear, their car falling off of a cliff at the same time as Robin and Cyborg's car.
  • Fate Worse than Death: At one point, the trip with Robin becomes so unbearable that Cyborg attempts to self-destruct himself, but is stopped by Robin forcing him to clap his hands in a singalong.
  • Fell Asleep Driving: The penultimate leg of the trip is in a rental car, and Robin offers to drive while Cyborg gets some rest. However, Robin ends up falling asleep himself, leading to their car nearly getting run over by two trains and then going right off a cliff.
  • Picked Last: The plot starts when Robin offers to be Cyborg's partner in a ping pong tournament being held in Metropolis, which Cyborg only accepts because Beast Boy, Raven, and Starfire are all away at the time, and Silkie doesn't know how to play. When the duo finally reach the arena on the back of a donkey, Cyborg decides to take the donkey as his partner instead of Robin.
  • The Power of Friendship: Robin repeatedly references the trope, hoping that he and Cyborg will unlock its true power during their trip.
  • Whole-Plot Reference: To Planes, Trains and Automobiles, as hinted at by this episode's title. Robin and Cyborg even use all three modes of transportation in that order during their trip.
