Recap / Teen Titans Go S 5 E 45 The Viewers Decide

Go To

It's the end of Bumblebee's Story Arc, with Titans East and Titans West arguing over who she'll stay with.

  • 20% More Awesome: While they're in "Board Room" mode, one of the offers for Bumblebee to remain with the Titans is a completely unexplained "ten percent increase"; it's treated as if it's worth considering, but the tone, especially when it's put on a list with the other things, makes it clear this isn't really meant to make sense.
  • Audience Participation: Comes down to a mock recreation of a "call in your vote" thing, with unquestioned results when one answer has a much easier number to dial than the other.
  • Brick Joke: The episode starts with Bumblebee stating that she's enjoyed her time with the Titans but thinks it's a good time to leave, considering going independent like Batman. It ends with Bumblebee following through with that idea and becoming "Batbee".
  • Conflicting Loyalty: Most of the episode ends up being built around the fact that Bumblebee was originally part of the Titans East, so if her future's in question, they want in. They both manage to lose her by the end.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: At the end, Bumblebee's had enough and, looking less sad than annoyed, goes with the "Batbee" idea.
  • Take a Third Option: Most of the episode has both Titans East and Titans West trying to pursue Bumblebee into joining or staying on their team respectively. In the end, Bumblebee choose neither, instead deciding to pair up with Commissioner Gordon under the alter-ego "Batbee".
  • Yank the Dog's Chain: In the first minutes of the episode, Bumblebee quietly starts to leave, thinks the other Titans are showing concern for her when they all cry out not to go, and realizes they're just watching a documentary on tv.
