Starfire worries that she has problems communicating with others, so the Titans offer to play Spin The Bottle with her, so she can learn more dialects through kissing.
- Be Yourself: Raven tries to tell Starfire that it's better to be herself and misunderstood than to try and be someone else, but Starfire isn't willing, to the point that she nearly erases her own personality after going on a kissing spree and absorbing people's mentalities in addition to their vocabularies.
- Book Ends: The episode starts with Starfire going to the zoo to understand animals, pointing out a penguin, a croc, and a female cat. The episode ends with Starfire trying to warn the others about an attack by The Penguin, Killer Croc, and Catwoman, but the other Titans think she just wants to go back to the zoo and end up ambushed by the villains.

Broken Aesop: The episode ends with Raven reconfirming that Starfire should be herself rather than change who she is just to be understood, and then the Titans ending up in a Big Ball of Violence with some villains because Starfire failed to be understood. - Cactus Cushion: Whenever Robin spins the bottle in Spin the Bottle, he ends up having to kiss a nearby cactus. At one point, he tries to run for it, only to instead fall lips-first onto the cactus.
- Friend-or-Idol Decision: Despite Robin spending the entire episode trying to kiss Starfire, he ultimately has to turn her down when she tries to kiss him, as she does so when she's on her kissing spree and doing so could erase her personality.
