Cyborg has been listening to his favorite song, "Night Begins to Shine", way too much. Robin decides to suspend Cyborg from Titans duty until he can learn to function without playing the song.

This episode contains the following Tropes:

  • American Kirby Is Hardcore: The song was covered in Russian for the dub, but the lyrics were slightly altered. While the first part is an almost literal translation of the original American version, being a romantic song, the second verse is instead about confronting your enemy and facing them in a battle. Given that Cyborg uses said song to defeat the Brain, this change actually fits the tone of the scene.
  • Art Shift: The scenery shifts to looking like something out of Heavy Metal or an 80s anime when the song plays.
  • Brick Joke: Raven mentions turning into Optimus Prime early on. During Cyborg's Heroic Second Wind, he transforms into a white truck based on Optimus Prime to beat the Brain.
  • Cool Bike: Cyborg rides one of these when the song plays.
  • "Eureka!" Moment: Cyborg hears a bird singing the tune to "The Night Begins To Shine" while building its nest, and realizes that there's nothing wrong with using a song as a crutch if birds do it all the time.
  • Heroic Second Wind: Cyborg gets reinvigorated when, after the tape for his song is destroyed, the Titans sing "Night Begins to Shine" in a capella.
  • Impossible Pickle Jar: Cyborg gets told by Robin to open a pickle jar without using the song. He utterly fails at it for days until he gets inspired by the bird outside. Once he plays it, he snaps the lid open, eats a pickle and is off to save the day!
  • Theme Music Power-Up: How Cyborg treats his favorite song. Zigzagged as he annoys everyone else playing it too much and can't muster the willpower to do anything without it.
  • This Cannot Be!: The Brain has this reaction at Cyborg getting stronger just from his favorite song powering him up.
  • Wrestler in All of Us: During Cyborg's second wind, his fight against Monsieur Mala is like something out of a pro wrestling match, as well as hitting him with an elbow drop. He even mimics Hulk Hogan's famous no-sell with a finger wag.
