Ted and John go to great lengths so John watch his first adult film, which leads to Susan questioning her relationship with Matty.
- Chekhov's Gun: Early in the episode, Ted points out how the AV room has the same VCR as the Bennets. Ted and John are able to switch it out with their VCR that has the porno stuck in it.
- Comically Missing the Point: When Matty asks Susan why she's slowly eating a banana right next to him, she responds that she's been bad, which causes him to react in anger when he realizes she ate the last banana.
- Deadly Hazing: Discussed when Ted asks Blaire a long-winded question about if she's going to participate in any college hazing which might go horribly wrong leading to everyone involved needing to cover it up and living with it as a dark secret until someone starts to get panicky and they'll have to be dealt with before it becomes a problem.Blaire: What the fuck are you talking about?!Ted: I'm just making conversation.
- Erotic Eating: Thinking it will appeal to Matty whom she thinks secretly watched porn because he was dissatisfied with their sex life, Susan does this with a banana in front of him. His reaction is to get mad because that was the last banana in the kitchen.
- Faked Food Contaminant: At the restaurant, Matty gives Susan a nail to "find" in her food, getting them a free meal and a diving helmet filled with shrimp.
- Foreshadowing:
- When John tries to eject the adult French film from the VCR, the tape briefly gets stuck, which is what happens to the porno.
- When Blaire reveals that she took the blame for John and Ted's porn VHS, a grateful Ted says that they owe her bigtime. Blaire agrees that they do. In the next episode, she'll make Ted be her designated driver to return the favour.

- Offscreen Moment of Awesome: Ted helped his school basketball team win their game (keep in mind Ted is roughly 24 inches tall).
- Overly Long Gag: When Ted and John decide to run away, they lament on every dilapidated part of the house.
