Amy struggles to rally the employees together after Carol returns to work after her suspension for trying to kill Sandra's cat at her wedding. Meanwhile, Jonah and Cheyenne attend a rally to raise the minimum wage. Also, after being assigned to clean the back stock room, Garrett and Mateo finds a customer to do the labor.

Tropes:

  • Bland-Name Product: The sandwich shop Gateway Subs is an allusion to the Subway sandwich shop.
  • Comically Missing the Point: Jonah informs a prospective Gateway diner that the Gateway employees don't make a living wage, while the CEO makes $47 billion a year. The diner responds, "Oh. Good for him."
  • Hated by All: Carol, to the point that nobody wants to work anywhere near her, and the only reason anyone puts up with her is because Corporate would be on Amy's case otherwise. When she gets electrocuted (after having been assigned to work with the cleaning robot, since nobody else would), barely anyone cares, and Sandra (one of the sweetest characters on the show) watches the security footage over and over with a smile on her face. But after everything Carol did over the past five seasons, it's safe to say that she deserved what she got.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: After acting like a Smug Snake all episode because she can't be fired due to "mental health", no one wants to work with Carol and she's forced to go to the backroom alone and fix the cleaning robot with just a manual. Not knowing what she's doing, she ends up electrocuting herself and said electrocution takes out the power, preventing Mateo. Who had hired someone to do the work he was too lazy to do that day for cheap and used the fact that he was desperate for money to act like a Bad Boss to him, from getting his CĂ©line Dion tickets.
    • Karma Houdini: Garret also took part in torturing the worker but suffered no real comeuppance.
