Go To

The thirteenth episode of the second season of the US version of Supernanny.

Jo visits High Desert, California, where she meets Tom and Danielle Silva, who each have two children from previous marriages, and have had three children since. The eldest, Meghan is seventeen years old, and the youngest, Caden, is six months old. Tom is away all week to work for the Army National Guard, and he will soon be deployed to Iraq for a year and a half. During his absence, Danielle is very disorganized and allows the children to run wild. Can Jo help the Silva family?

This episode provides examples of:

  • Blended Family Drama: In the submission reel, MacKenzie and Allyson say that their stepsisters and they hate each other.
  • Dad the Veteran: Tom is preparing for a deployment to Iraq for up to a year and a half and while much of the focus is to help his wife handle their blended family of seven children by herself, Jo also encouraged him and his oldest daughter Meghan to work on their relationship. He gave her a pocket watch that belonged to his grandfather so that she could have something of strong sentimental value to think about him.
  • Good Behavior Points: To help curb the girls' swearing habits, Jo introduces the Trash Talk technique, where each of them gets ten mouths, and one mouth gets taken away for every swear word said. If one girl manages to keep all of their mouths for the whole week, they will earn a coupon that will allow their parents to do something special for them.
  • Good Girl Gone Bad: Riley, who is a typical good toddler, starts breaking rules in hopes of getting on her mother's nerves, but in the end, she has gotten attacked by her sisters.
  • Massive Numbered Siblings: Tom and Danielle have seven children.
  • Neat Freak: Danielle spends a lot of her time cleaning, which results in her neglecting her children. Jo implements the Task Timer technique so that her children can join her in cleaning the house.
  • Sir Swears-a-Lot: The girls have very foul mouths, and Danielle isn't that much better off, either. Jo implements the Trash Talk technique in the hopes of decreasing the foul language.
  • Trash of the Titans: The Silva household is extremely messy because the children don't clean up after themselves. Jo implements the Task Timer Technique so that the children can clean the house.
