So that's where I'm from
SMG4 learns where he came from.
  • Brick Joke: The previous episode ended with SMG4 screaming the opening of Gangsta's Paradise to the sky, this episode starts with him still screaming it as the camera zooms back in.
  • Came from the Sky: SMG4 and SMG3 crashed into the Mushroom Kingdom from burning USB drives that fell from the sky.
  • The Corruption: The USB SMG4 came from turns everyone into Ax-Crazy idiots, though SMG4 can tame the insanity by uploading content featuring them, with the infected being less crazy, but still stupid.
  • Exposition Beam: How the Ancient Memes provide the two SMGs with their origin stories.
  • Foreshadowing: Upon getting rid of the USB, SMG4 declares he's saved the world, usually used as running gag in the series by characters who think they've save the day but haven't. Sure enough, by the next episode we find out why that was Not Quite the Right Thing.
  • Hate at First Sight: Upon arrival at the Mushroom Kingdom, SMG4 and SMG3 immediately begin to insult and attack each other.
  • Nothing Is the Same Anymore: Not for us, since we weren't there to see the channel prior to its start, but rather for Mario's universe. It was completely transformed by the memes, changing it from an only slightly hectic world to a world of stupidity and chaos. SMG4 decides this is fine, though, since there's "no harm in a little humor in everyone's lives."
  • Not Quite Back to Normal: By making YouTube content of the newly crazed Mushroom Kingdom residents, SMG4 is able to restore some sanity to them, turning them from franticly spouting memes and running about to their modern selves but not back to what they were before.
  • Ominous Visual Glitch: SMG3 was originally meant to land in the Internet Graveyard, however a strange green light surrounded by Binary interfered with his USB and teleported him into the Mushroom Kingdom instead.
  • Origins Episode: Obviously it's one for SMG4, but it's also one for SMG3 and the SMG4 show's universe as whole.
  • Sanity Slippage: As Peach wasn't shown to have gotten zapped by the USB, she likely went through this instead.
  • Split-Screen Phone Call: SMG4 calls SMG3 showing both talking with a split screen. SMG4 somehow reaches over the split screen to shake SMG3 and is able to see SMG3 running off in spite of the fact they're still on the line.
  • Took a Level in Dumbass: Everyone who was zapped by SMG4's USB. This offers an In-Universe explanation for why everyone's either super crazy or just really dumb.
