Recap / Strong Bad Email E 70 Big White Face

Go To

Airdate: Monday, April 21, 2003

Sender: Jen C. from Millbrae, CA

Strong Bad: (chanting) Hoo! Cha! Cheritiza! Hooritajuzu-duh-email!

Jen C. wants to know why Strong Bad is always so mean to "the guy with the big white face and gray body" (presumably meaning Strong Sad). With Strong Bad being Strong Bad, he seems to have no idea who Jen is talking about at first, as he goes over low-res pictures of the other characters on the site.

Strong Bad: Is she talking about Marzipan? No, her head is... more like a baseball bat... Maybe Bubs? No. Bubs is definitely of the blue-headed persuasion. Homestar's got the white head, but... his body's just kinda that red skirt. Strong Mad doesn't really have a head or a body. The Cheat's physiology just plain baffles me...

He eventually concludes that Jen is talking about the Poopsmith, and is viewing him on a black-and-white monitor. Strong Bad runs off to do something nice for him, when Strong Sad just happens to stroll into the computer room and find the e-mail.

Strong Sad: Finally! My comeuppance has arrived! I should go wait somewhere inconspicuous and act none the wiser.

Strong Sad waits in the Field for Strong Bad to come along, but all Strong Bad has to offer his little brother is an insult ("You're the wiggidy-wiener"), a "single-deuce", and a cake in the face.

Strong Bad: Aww, look what you made me do! Now I gotta make The Cheat make me another cake.
Strong Sad: I wish I could say that this is the first time this has happened to me. Today...

Strong Bad eventually gets the second cake (which reads "Sorry I Threw that 1st Cake at Strong Sad" and has red beans on it for no real reason) to the Poopsmith, who seems rather baffled by the whole ordeal.

Tropes:

  • Acting Unnatural: Strong Sad decides to "wait somewhere inconspicuous and act none the wiser". He ends up hanging out in the field muttering "Oh, nothing, nothing..." and obviously looking like he's waiting for something.
  • Bizarre Alien Biology: An Easter egg features an image of The Cheat's baffling physiology.
  • Call-Back: An Easter Egg depicts a live-action version of the Poopsmith's cake, and various items are added to it with each click. The last extra topping is the Swiss Cake Roll with the "5" and "0" candles.
  • Cordon Bleugh Chef: Strong Bad's cake for the Poopsmith having beans on it is bad enough, but the real-life version seen in one of the Easter Eggs gets even more unsavory toppings piled on top of it the more you click on it.Specifically...
  • Flipping the Bird: Strong Bad gives Strong Sad a "single deuce".
  • Medium Awareness: At the end of the cartoon, the Poopsmith pokes the Paper with his shovel after it comes down.
  • Never My Fault: Strong Bad blames Strong Sad for making him throw the cake in the latter's face.
  • Oh, No... Not Again!: After getting a cake in the face, Strong Sad remarks "I wish I could say that this is the first time this has happened to me. Today..."
  • Pie in the Face: Strong Bad eventually shoves the cake he had The Cheat bake for the Poopsmith into Strong Sad's face.
  • Selective Obliviousness: Strong Bad would apparently rather assume that the sender is using an old-fashioned computer with a black-and-white monitor to admit that he's being too hard on a guy who never talks and shovels crap for a living than admit he's being too mean to Strong Sad.
  • Yank the Dog's Chain: Strong Sad finds the e-mail, and thinks Strong Bad is going to be nice to him for a change. Guess again.
  • Your Other Left: When Strong Bad reveals all he has behind his back for Strong Sad is "a single deuce", Strong Sad says "No, your other back!"

Strong Bad: Anyways, it really stinks over here, so, uhh... I'm— I'm gonna go. Enjoy the cake. (walks away)
(The Paper comes down, causing the Poopsmith to flinch. After a few seconds, he begins poking it with his shovel)
