Airdate: Monday, October 21, 2002

Sender: Ryan, Toronto

Strong Bad: (rising in pitch) Doo doo doo doo doo. Email! (lowering in pitch) Doo doo doo doo doo.

Ryan wants to know what Strong Bad would replace his hands with, if he couldn't replace them with prosthetic hands. Strong Bad immediately declares that one of his new hands would be a bucket, useful for pouring oatmeal on turtles, washing the Cheat, "dropping the occasional beat", or using as an improvised stool. His other hand would be a bullhorn, for letting people hear the important things he has to say (like "I am still awesome... seriously.") However, it doesn't take long for Strong Bad to realize he missed an opportunity.

Strong Bad: Now I know you were all expecting me to pick things like guitars and lazor guns, but I... aw, man! Why didn't I pick guitars and lazor guns? Bullhorn?! Pfft! Like having a bucket for a hand's gonna get me any chicks... What was I thinking?
(The Paper comes down)

Tropes:

  • Continuity Nod: Strong Bad's spelling of "lazor" is a nod to "band names".
  • Easter Egg: At the end of the Flash version you can activate an interactive Strong Bad with changeable hands, including Homestar's severed head ("What do you say there, Buckethand?"). The YouTube version cycles through all of the choices automatically for The Stinger.
  • Explain, Explain... Oh, Crap!: Immediately after listing what his audience would assume would be obvious choices for replacement hands, Strong Bad realizes he should have probably picked something more exciting than a bucket and a bullhorn.
Strong Bad: Now I know you were all expecting me to pick things like guitars and lazor guns, but I... aw, man! Why didn't I pick guitars and lazor guns?
  • Piss-Take Rap: Coach Z attempts a brief one of these when Strong Bad starts drumming on his bucket-hand. "These peoples try to fade me!"
  • Wasteful Wishing: Strong Bad regrets his choices of a bullhorn and a bucket when he realizes he could have gone with a guitar and a laser gun for hands.
  • Your Size May Vary: When Strong Bad imagines washing The Cheat with his bucket hand, The Cheat is much smaller than usual in order to fit.

Homestar's Head: Whaddaya say there, Buckethand?
