Warriors, war machines, war...where does the line exist between them, when there is only war? What is power? The strength to act? Or the will to act? What is destiny? That which is chosen for you? Or that which you have chosen?

Tropes in this episode include:

  • Alliterative Title: "Warriors, War Machines, WAR".
  • Attack on the Heart: Depa saves Mace from being choked out by Saphran by using her lightsaber to impale Saphran in the back and out the chest, cutting out the Marine’s heart in the process.
  • Fake Arm Disarm: Anakin’s mechanical arm shatters apart from the sheer strain of being used as a conduit to reverse the polarity of Khayon's Blackstone restraints.
  • Hero Ball: Jocasta Nu firmly grabs this when, after Saphran is initially defeated, she wastes time arguing with the other Jedi that they should try to take the Space Marine Librarian alive, disregarding how dangerous he is. While the other Jedi are smart enough not to entertain her notion, this nevertheless buys Saphran time to get his second wind.
  • In the Back: How Depa carves out one of Saphran's hearts. She impales him from behind with her lightsaber while he's distracted trying to choke out Mace.
  • Internal Reveal: Khayon learns about Anakin being the Chosen One of the Force.
  • Kick Them While They Are Down: While under the Dark Side's influence, Depa Billaba continues to kick and stomp down on Saphran's face even after he's laying defeated on the ground and is seemingly too injured to fight anymore. She gets stopped by Mace Windu and Jaro Tapal, who drag her away and chastise her for acting in a manner unbefitting of a Jedi.
  • Set a Mook to Kill a Mook: Khayon tricks two shotgun-toting prison guards into killing each other by conjuring an illusion of himself between them, causing the two guards to immediately open fire and blast each other.
  • Slasher Smile: Depa lets out a bloodthirsty grin upon cutting out Saphran’s heart.
  • Spiteful Spit: After seemingly defeating Saphran, Depa takes the time to walk over and spit onto his defeated form.
  • Standard Female Grab Area: Subverted. Jaro Tapal attempts this by grabbing Depa Billaba's shoulder after she falls to the Dark Side and looks like she is about to attack Mace Windu. He finds out the hard way why doing this with a fallen Jedi is a terrible idea as Depa reacts by slicing off Jaro's hand and then fatally impaling him through the chest with her lightsaber.
