A concert promoter wants to take SpongeBob and Squidward on a world tour, but Mr. Krabs fills in as their money-hungry manager.

"Hello Bikini Bottom!" contains examples of:

  • Bait-and-Switch: After SpongeBob and Squidward finish their duet, they see a huge crowd in front of them, cheering loudly. Mr. Krabs is surprised that they all came out to the middle of the desert just to see SpongeBob and Squidward, only for Patrick to point out that they actually came to see a rare meteor shower that passes through an Aurora Borealis.
  • Big "WHY?!": Mr. Krabs does this after he is left broke and unable to buy the Krusty Krab back.
  • Brick Joke: Early in the episode when Mr. Krabs reveals that he pawned the Krusty Krab to fund the tour, Plankton sees it in the pawn shop and rushes back to get his savings. The ending has Plankton back with his money after Mr. Krabs bought the restaurant back and is offered a taco stand instead.
  • Butt-Monkey: Mr. Krabs, who's gigs he books for SpongeBob and Squidward's world tour end up going wrong, gets sued several times throughout the episode, and his idea of pawning the Krusty Krab to raise money for their world tour ultimately backfires in the end.
  • Description Cut: After Mr. Krabs reveals that he pawned the Krusty Krab to pay for the concert tour, he says how his heart aches just thinking about the Krusty Krab sitting in a pawn shop window at the mercy of any random joe who just happens to be passing by. It then cuts to Plankton spotting the Krusty Krab in the pawn shop window and running home to get his wallet.
  • Deus ex Machina: Mr. Krabs is only able to buy back the Krusty Krab when SpongeBob magically produces the funds (said to be Gary's college funds) necessary to buy it back.
  • Distant Duet: The song "Never Give Up" between SpongeBob and Squidward.
  • Either/Or Title: "SpongeBob On Tour"
  • Everything Is an Instrument: SpongeBob and Squidward hold one of their concerts in a supermarket. Nearby customers notice the music and grab some food items from the shelves to use as musical instruments and play along with them.
  • Jerkass: Colonel Carper takes a hundred percent of all the money the band makes. It's fair he expects a large cut because of everything he provides for them; however, he takes all of it while smugly admitting he's doing it because he can.
  • Karma Houdini: Colonel Carper gets completely scot-free with his smug jerkassery and does not face any comeuppance whatsoever.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: Mr. Krabs finally makes enough money to buy back the Krusty Krab, only to be met with a long line of people he owes money to for all his actions throughout the episode.
  • Musical Episode
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: After the bus breaks down in the middle of the desert, Squidward, fed up with everything, decides to walk home. He does eventually turn back around and joins SpongeBob.
  • Shake Someone, Objects Fall: Colonel Carper's roadies hold Mr. Krabs upside-down and shake him until all the money left in his money sack falls into Colonel Carper's pockets.
  • Shout-Out:
    • Colonel Carper is a parody of Elvis Presley's manager, Colonel Parker.
    • When Colonel Carper says, "Hmm, let me think about that for a second...", The Thinker appears in a mirror.
  • Special Guest: Andy Samberg as Colonel Carper.
  • Status Quo Is God: Mr. Krabs, despite being bankrupt by the end of the episode, is still able to buy back the Krusty Krab when SpongeBob foots the bill for him.
