While Peter and Mary Jane are on their honeymoon Hydro-Man is revealed to have survived his last encounter with Spider-Man and is back to wanting Mary Jane for himself. As Peter desperately tries to find Mary Jane they both discover things that will destroy their marriage before it can even begin.
This episode provides examples of:
- Arbitrary Skepticism: When Mary Jane is arrested by the police and tells them about how Hydro-Man was after her. They don't believe her for a second, despite the fact that Mary Jane being a former target of Hydro-Man was pretty damn well publicized.
- Big Damn Heroes: With Spider-Man stuck under the collapsed tower and about to be electrocuted, Black Cat shoots him a line that helps him wiggle free.
- False Reassurance: After Spider-Man is pinned by the collapsed tower, Hydro-Man causes the platform to start sinking. However, he assures Spidey that he won't drown; he'll instead be electrocuted by the water touching a sparky electrical box.
- I Am Not Left-Handed: Hydro-Man gives Spider-Man a lot of trouble on the platform, but once Mary Jane has gotten away on the boat, he announces he can really stop holding back.Spider-Man: He wasn't trying before?
- Wham Shot: At the end of the episode Mary Jane discovers she has the same powers as Hydro-Man.
