As society begins to recover from Perfect Chaos' rampage, Eggman discovers a few things about the government's new robots before discovering an old project his grandfather, Gerald Robotnik, was working on.
This episode contains examples of:
- Adaptation Expansion: Aside from the very last scene, this episode is dedicated to unseen events of Sonic Adventure 2, those being how Dr. Eggman obtained the data on Project Shadow and Rouge being informed on her mission. It also touches on the aftermath of Sonic Adventure.
- Complaining About Rescues They Don't Like: Sonic finds Bokkun crying. When the latter realizes that the former rescued him, Bokkun throws a fit at him for doing just that.
- Hollywood Hacking: Eggman hacking into Gerald Robotnik's files is represented by a virtual depiction of him. Upon being detected, he is chased by a virtual policeman. As he is chased, two bars are filled up, one representing downloading the files and the other representing the original files being deleted, with Eggman's success causing the virtual policeman to collapse in failure.
- The Password Is Always "Swordfish": Eggman hacks into Gerald Robotnik's files by figuring out the password is "Maria". In the English Dub, he tries a few other passwords before that like "Eggman" and "Robotnik" (in the original, the final attempt is the only one he verbally reveals).
