Sly and the Gang go to Haiti to take down Mz. Ruby, the Chief Mystic of the Fiendish Five, whose trying to raise an army of zombies to invade Mexico.

Tropes:

  • Arc Villain: Mz. Ruby.
  • Beast in the Maze: Mz. Ruby's giant snake, which is contained in a magically sealed area. When Sly had to traverse the swamp it resided in, the final third of the level involved him needing to keep ahead of it once it appeared onscreen.
  • Bubblegloop Swamp: The mission is a completely straight example.
  • Hollywood Voodoo: Raising/speaking with the dead? Check. Skulls and bubbling cauldrons? Check. All set within a grisly looking quagmire? Check.
  • Mirror Match: What the fight with Mz. Ruby amounts to, with Sly having to mimic her movements in order to dodge her spell attacks.
  • Rhythm Game: Mz. Ruby's boss fight is a game of "Voodoo Simon Says" where her minions will help escort Sly to her as you have to press specific buttons to dodge her attacks.
  • Swamp Monster:
    • A recurring enemy is the Swamp monsters (also known as Marcel Woodfist), sentient plant monsters brought to life by Mz. Ruby with Hollywood Voodoo.
    • "The Lair of the Beast", Sly encounters a giant snake monster being kept in an enclosure with voodoo magic, the mission involving Sly breaking in, escaping being eaten by it and freeing it, the snake breaking through the barricade so that Sly can get into the heart of Mz. Ruby's operation.
