Go To

While Wrong Hordak's message of dissent spreads throughout the empire, the squad infiltrates the town of Erelandia to get a lead on their friends.

Tropes:

  • Body Surf: Over the centuries, Horde Prime has discarded several physical vessels in favor of new ones. He keeps his old bodies preserved in vitrines so that he can access the memories stored therein as needed.
  • Call-Back: The Rebellion's been hiding out in the former Horde base from "Pulse" that Glimmer and Catra fought at. Glimmer even lampshades it when she recognizes the cave.
  • Cartesian Karma: The Erelandian shopkeeper hates the princesses for attacking towns, and when it's pointed out they're being mind-controlled, she says it doesn't make a difference to her.
  • The Chains of Commanding: Played for laughs, of all things. Perfuma, in her intense relief and happiness that her friends are back sobs that she no longer wants to be in charge.
  • Continuity Nod:
    • The Rebellion's new hideout is the hidden cave Catra was using as a base in "Pulse", Catra and Glimmer sharing an awkward glance when asked if they'd been there before.
    • Entrapta guiding Wrong Hordak to touch Emily mirrors Bow guiding Adora to touch the horse that would become Swift Wind in "The Sword: Part 2".
  • Freeze-Frame Bonus: Prime observing the Rebellions on other worlds have a few.
    • One has a group of three Cat People with swords that look a lot like Catra and can be reasonably surmised to be Magicats. The youngest of this group also looks like Loo-kee from the original series.
    • An easy one to spot is the Star Siblings fighting against Horde robots on another planet.
  • Hero of Another Story: The Star Siblings from Episode 4, appear in a small cameo, revealing that after parting ways with Adora and co. they started rebellions on other worlds under Horde Prime's control.
  • Hidden in Plain Sight: With Wrong Hordak directing clones away from them, the heroes can just walk into an occupied town with hoods as a disguise.
  • Hope Crusher: She-Ra has been inspiring other worlds to rise up against the Horde, which forces Horde Prime's hand, and decides he needs to reactivate the Heart of Etheria sooner than he anticipated to crush their hope.
  • Hope Spot: For a brief moment Netossa manages to reach Spinerella with her "I Know You're in There Somewhere" Fight, but Horde Prime manages to reassert his control, the chip becoming even more deeply connected to her.
  • "I Know You're in There Somewhere" Fight: Netossa tries this with Spinnerella. It briefly works, but she gets taken control of again and leaves.
  • Meaningful Echo: The way Wrong Hordak is introduced to Emily is very similar to when Adora was first introduced to the horse that would become Swift Wind.
  • Mushroom Man: Most of the Erelandians are part-fungus.
  • Pet the Dog: Catra reassures Netossa that her wife will be fine once her chip is off.
  • Punched Across the Room: Upon recognizing Catra, Frosta promptly decks her in the face with an ice-Enhanced Punch, sending her flying.
  • Reformed, but Rejected: Even after being informed by Adora that Catra is now fighting for the Rebellion, Frosta still remarks that she still doesn't like her. Not that Catra should mind about that.
  • Secret Message Wink: Entrapta explains this trope to Wrong Hordak:
Wrong Hordak: You appear to have a facial tic. Is it cause for concern?
Entrapta: Oh, I'm winking. It indicates unspoken intent behind my words. In this case, our mutual deception of the Horde.
  • Spark of the Rebellion: She-Ra has become this helping the Star Siblings when they were in need, which inspired them to help others rise up against the Horde.
  • Suspiciously Specific Denial:
Wrong Hordak: Brother, I hope you, too, are full of only love for Horde Prime and have no crippling doubt eating out your soul.
  • Teleportation Sickness: Catra doesn't like the feeling of Glimmer teleporting her very much.
  • This Is Gonna Suck: When Catra realizes Netossa thinks she's still an enemy and is going to attack her, a brief Oh, Crap! look crosses her face.
Catra: [snickers] More like she almost had you.
Netossa: Catra?! Stand back, I've got this one!
Catra: [dismayed expression] What one? [gets netted]
