Recap / She Ra And The Princesses Of Power S 5 E 02 Launch

Go To

While Adora takes a much-needed rest, Mermista reluctantly leads the princesses into the Fright Zone so Entrapta can try to trace Horde Prime's signal.

Tropes

  • Brick Joke: When Entrapta traces HP's signal, Scorpia shouts out hooray only to take it back when she hears the bad news that Galactic Horde reinforcements are coming. She then "reinstates" her hooray once the heroes manage to launch into space.
  • Call-Back:
    • Along with the princesses mentioning how Entrapta's machines have made the war harder for them, Mermista claims that she's very familiar with the Horde's sewer system.
    • Once again, Perfuma has Entrapta on a leash.
  • The Chains of Commanding: Mermista learns the hard way that leading a team is much, much harder then Adora makes it look.
  • Cloudcuckoolander's Minder: The other Princesses when trying to keep Entrapta on task, but mainly poor Perfuma, who has to use her vine powers to basically drag her along on a leash while she tries to find a decent signal so they can track down Horde Prime and Glimmer.
  • A Day in the Limelight: With Adora temporarily incapacitated, Mermista, Entrapta, Frosta, Scorpia, and Perfuma get focused on in this episode during their mission to one of the spires.
  • Deal with the Devil: Horde Prime offers Glimmer the chance to reunite with her father if she helps him capture Adora. Having had experience with betraying her friends for her own selfish desires, Glimmer tells him to suck it.
  • Desperately Seeking A Purpose In Life: We learn that part of why Adora loved being She-Ra so much was the idea that she had a destiny, a purpose.
  • Disguised in Drag: Micah disguises himself as She-Ra in order to distract Prime's bots. After they've bought enough time, he dispels the illusion over his face first.
  • Flirting Under Fire: When she's caught by a Horde bot, Entrapta gets flustered and calls it "technologically advanced" in a flirty tone.
  • The Friend Nobody Likes: The rest of the princesses are not happy with Entrapta ditching them for the Horde, and believe she has no allegiances except for tech.
  • Geeky Turn-On: Again Entrapta finds the fact she's being scanned by an enemy droid to be very... intellectually stimulating.
Entrapta: Oh, hello. You’re...very technologically advanced. (scanning finishes and the probes fires a laser beam) Bad Robot!
  • Good News, Bad News: Entrapta states this when she tracks Horde Prime's signal. The good news is that she found the coordinates to his mothership. The bad news is that she uncovered his last message of sending more ships to Etheria which will make it harder to travel into space.
  • Innocently Insensitive: Turns out Entrapta really does miss Glimmer and is doing all her work to try and get the princesses to like her again because she feels bad for what she did. She's just really, really bad at communicating that, and unfortunately easily distracted (something she is aware enough of to use her hair to slap herself before she gets caught up admiring the tech to stay on task), so the rest of the princesses assumed she was being callous.
  • Internal Reveal: Glimmer finds out that her father is alive and well and working with the Rebellion again after Horde Prime shows her footage of Micah fighting on the front lines.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: Entrapta's lack of loyalty to any cause beyond her own For Science! mentality has caused the other Princesses to be extremely distrustful of her.
  • Miming the Cues: Mermista tries to pantomime what Perfuma should do after they get separated from one another near a Spire, trying to track Horde Prime and Glimmer's location, to avoid the attention the robots guarding it, but Perfuma has no idea what she's trying to say.
  • Please, Don't Leave Me: While she initially gets angry at seeing her outside her cell, Glimmer begs Catra to stay when the latter starts to leave, desperate for anybody's company aside from Horde Prime's.
  • "The Reason You Suck" Speech: The Princesses (minus Scorpia) lay it out on Entrapta for endangering them all for science.
  • Shout-Out: The giant holograms of Horde Prime gloating about his victory bear a certain visual resemblance to Skeletor doing the same when he was about to become a god.
  • Tag Along Kid: Inverted; Entrapta, a woman of 25-35 years old who is also the shortest of the Princesses alongside 12-year-old Frosta, is the one who has to be kept on a child leash by the other Princesses lest she wander off into danger.

Entrapta

The princesses call Entrapta out for the things she did while she was in the Horde, and for being inconsiderate of the consequences of her actions in general.

How well does it match the trope?
