Recap / Seijuu Sentai Gingaman Ep 18

Go To

The knight who rescued Ryouma is named Bull Black, a warrior who fought the Balban 3000 years ago. But is this black knight an ally or a hindrance to the Gingamen?

Episode Tropes:

  • Big Damn Heroes: Played with. Bull Black does come to the Gingamen's aid when they struggled against Kairikibo, but he makes it clear he is not helping them at all.
  • Call-Back: Ryouma recalls hearing Hyuuga's voice back in Episode 13 and tells Saya this news.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: Bull Black vs an army of Yardots and Kairikibo. Do we even need to say who comes out on top in this fight?
  • Immediate Sequel: This episode begins where the previous episode left off.
  • MacGuffin: The Oni Stone, said to be the most durable object in the world, is Budoh's target for this episode as it could hold the Lights of Ginga. It turns out to be another false lead after Bull Black slices it open, and nothing comes out of it.
  • Mistaken Identity: Both Ryouma and Saya assume that Bull Black is Hyuuga due to the fact the knight rescued the former from the cave-in. They are proven incorrect when they see Bull Black fight differently than what Hyuuga used to do.
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: The Gingamen and Bull Black's brief fight over the Oni Stone led Kairikibo and a squad of Yardots to steal it.
  • The Reveal: Bull Black reveals that he was the one who brought the Lights of Ginga to Earth 3000 years ago in order to destroy the Balban. He is also the one who gave Sambash the wrong location of the Lights.
  • Sealed Good in a Can: An already injured Bull Black was sent to the depths of the Earth thanks to Sambash and stayed there for 3000 years until he was revived in the present day of 1998.
  • Undying Loyalty: Despite Shelinda's annoyance over Budoh's attitude and initial desire to take over the Lights of Ginga plan herself, Captain Zahab reassures her that Budoh would never betray the Balban Army.
