Amidst the chaos the pirates wreak on the planet, the newly-formed team face a major setback in the form of losing one member. As a result, an unlikely warrior must arise to counter the threat and help the team fend off the enemy.

Episode Tropes:

  • Bittersweet Ending: Yes the Gingamen are formed and they do push the Space Pirates Balban back, but it's only temporary and it came at the cost of Hyuuga's life.
  • Foregone Conclusion: Hyuuga is chosen as the Ginga Red at the start but the credits show Ryouma at top billing. You can probably guess where this heads to.
  • Legacy Character: According to Elder Orghi, the Gingamen have been around for 3000 years and the first ones were successful in sealing the Balban. After that, the people of the Ginga Forest honor their legacy by granting five warriors the chance to become the next generation of Gingamen.
  • Sealed Evil in a Can: The Balban Space Pirates were sealed for 3000 years thanks to the original Gingamen, but an earthquake unseals them in the present day.
  • Take Up My Sword: Before dropping to his death, Hyuuga gives Ryuoma the Red Starbeast Sword so he could he serve as Ginga Red in his place.
  • Took a Level in Badass:
    • At the start, Ryuoma could barely create a Mane of Flame compared to Hyuuga. But after Hyuuga's death, he gathers enough strength to create a proper one that pushes back Captain Zahab.
    • This applies to the rest of the Gingamen as well. They could barely put up a fight against the Seamen Yartots, but once they get the Ginga Braces, they manage to do better.
  • You Are Better Than You Think You Are: In his final words before dropping to his death, Hyuuga told Ryuoma that he can be a great warrior if he believes in himself. As soon as the crevasse closes, Ryuoma gathers the strength to perform a proper Mane of Flames.
