A shopkeeper named David Paknadel locks up his store and sends another employee, Tanya, home. Paknadel is then accosted by a cloaked figure. He runs and manages to get onto a subway train, but the cloaked figure gets on too and uses a shockwave to disable the train. Paknadel tries to flee with the crowd but is caught by the cloaked figure, who turns out to be Daisy "Quake" Johnson. Johnson rips his clothes to reveal a HYDRA tattoo, vibrates his internal organs, and then threatens to kill him if he doesn't tell her who killed Phil Coulson. Paknadel yells that Wade "Deadpool" Wilson told some other HYDRA goons that he, Wilson, had killed Coulson. Johnson blasts Paknadel and swears to kill Wilson.

At the headquarters of the Ennilus Corporate Offices, the Inhuman Ahura Boltagon (who runs the company) is surprised by his relative Karnak. Karnak says he wants a job and, since Boltagon hires mostly Inhumans and has over ten thousand employees, he was hoping Boltagon could give him one. Boltagon refuses and Karnak leaves, though he first advises Boltagon to expedite the shipping of 4-D televisions—which are being manufactured for Ennilus in a Chernayan factory—as much as possible.

In Queens, Johnson sends a civilian into a bar to say a few coded phrases and deliver a flyer with Johnson's personal information on it to a bartender. The civilian leaves and gets paid by Johnson, who reveals that the coded phrases were to send a hitman after her (Johnson).

Boltagon is at dinner when he hears a news report about a coup in Chernaya which has ousted the country's government and shut down all airports and seaports. Boltagon, realizing that Karnak somehow saw this coming, orders a subordinate to find Karnak for him.

Tony "Taskmaster" Masters breaks into Johnson's apartment and hears the shower running. He goes into the bathroom and stabs into the shower, but only hits a Life Model Decoy of Timothy "Dum Dum" Dugan. Johnson attacks him and they banter as they fight, with Johnson revealing that she's no longer on a team (since it disintegrated after they learned that Karnak had turned his son over to be experimented on by Hank "Dark Beast" McCoy). Johnson subdues Masters and demands to know why he showed up to kill her instead of Wilson; Masters says that Wilson is no longer taking contracts so he, Masters, began taking his jobs. Johnson then threatens Masters into connecting her with someone who knows where Wilson is.

In Ohio, Dante "Inhuman Torch" Pertuz chats on the Internet with Lunella "Moon Girl" Lafayette. Pertuz is babysitting his sister Gabriela's baby and claims to have put his charge to sleep, and is now badgering Lafayette to write a book report for his sister since she (his sister) is being run ragged between raising a child, working a night job, and attending school. He points out that Lafayette likes to talk about being the smartest person int he world, and thus stung, Lafayette agrees to help. She also mentions that she's been tracking Johnson and knows that Johnson is in New York. At that moment someone knocks. Pertuz guesses that this is his sister and admits he didn't actually put the baby to sleep, so he rushes to go fend his sister off before she finds out. However, when he reaches the door, someone breaks it down; the intruders turn out to be a squad of mutants led by Dark Beast. Pertuz tries to drive the attackers off with his fire powers but is easily subdued by one mutant while the others grab Gabriela's daughter. The mutants leave, with Dark Beast telling Pertuz to warn Karnak that his (Dark Beast's) employer is upset that Karnak did not honor their agreement.

Johnson goes to a clothing store to meet with Masters' contact. This turns out to be a man named Lester, also called "Bullseye." Lester drags Johnson into a changing room and puts a knife to her throat. Johnson threats to kill him, but Lester warns her not to. When she asks why, he notes that Wilson is right outside their changing room and would notice.
