Cox is furious with Kelso for launching a lucrative "body scan" service at the hospital. Carla is becoming increasingly frantic about her impending marriage to Turk. Elliot is about to let Sean move in, but breaks up with him after J.D. confesses his love for her.
- Be Careful What You W Ish For: JD spends the episode pining after Elliot only to learn Danni was right; he just wants what he can't have. When she shows up at his apartment having broken up with Sean, he gets a terrified look on his face.
- Bridezilla: Carla is freaking out about the wedding.
- Call-Back: Corman mentions that the last time he was at the hospital, Cox subjected him to a painful procedure (that coincidentally discovered he had cancer) in an attempt to scare him.
- The Confidant: Cox tells Janitor that "As a fellow abusive drinker you are bound by bar stool protocol to listen to every word out of my mouth.".
- Heroic Sacrifice: Cox is willing to kiss Kelso's ring if it means keeping Corman, a compulsive hypochondriac, from getting a full body scan.
- It's All About Me: Turk accuses Carla of this when she goes bridezilla, only to learn she rented a big screen TV for the reception so he could watch the play-offs.
- Oh, Crap!: As Elliot snuggles with JD at the end of the episode, he realizes Danni was right and he doesn't actually want Eliot.
- Rule of Symbolism: After JD confesses his love to Elliot, the automatic door to Sacred Heart closes, framing Eliot's face in the heart.
- Shout-Out: Janitor compares JD and Elliot (unfavorably) to Ross and Rachel (Dr. Ross and Rachel from accounting).
- Will They or Won't They?: JD and Eliot are of course this, lampshaded by Janitor.
