Bait-and-Switch: The B Plot is Johnny's intense discomfort in thinking that Ted's mother, Cheryl, is pursuing him. Alexis eventually joins him in this fear. In the end, we learn that she is a horny cougar, but she's boning her Zumba instructor (don't worry, Ted gets a discount) and she adores Johnny because, as her son's girlfriend's father, he fits neatly into her life as a brother.

Happily Married: Johnny spends the episode terrified of Ted's mom, Cheryl, because she's a horny cougar.
Hidden Depths: Turns out Moira has a talent for inspiring aspiring actors and brings out the best in all the Schitt's Creekers auditioning for Cabaret, especially Patrick. Jocelyn ends up gladly surrendering the role of director to Moira (who had usurped it in all but name), only to be handed the role of assistant director... same job but less pay.
Mistaken for Gay: Roland is, though he doesn't seem to realize it.
My God, What Have I Done?: Realizing Moira is perfect for the role of director, as she handled the auditions with unparalleled ease, Jocelyn gladly steps aside. When Moira then appoints her Assistant Director (with even more work), Jocelyn sports a moment of quiet despair.
Like Brother and Sister: Turns out Cheryl sees Johnny in the same role as her brother. Ted jokingly calls him "Uncle Johnny". Alexis has a good laugh. Partly out of relief.
Oh, Crap!: Johnny sees it coming a mile away that Ted's mom Cheryl wants to invite him to the gallery opening and freezes. Five seconds later, Ted reveals that she's newly divorced... Alexis finally joins him in realizing Cheryl is a horny cougar.
Parental Sexuality Squick: Alexis is not loving the fact that Johnny thinks Cheryl is attracted to him.
Show Within a Show: Moira directing the community theatre production of Cabaret becomes a major storyline for the rest of the season.
