Johnny has a buyer for the town in the form of Andy Roberts, a shelving manufacturer, which means that the Roses will have at least enough money to leave town to set up elsewhere. Both David and Alexis start making plans for their life away from Schitt's Creek, one whose plans are somewhat dependent upon the other to succeed. They also resolve their relationships in Schitt's Creek. Alexis' includes with Ted, Mutt and Ronnie, the latter who provides some illuminating information. David's is solely with Stevie to who he makes a proposition. Moira wants to leave a legacy of herself in Schitt's Creek, the surprised beneficiary being Jocelyn. But before the Roses can leave, uncouth and socially unaware Andy has to sign on the dotted line...
Tropes featured in this episode include:
- Anguished Declaration of Love: Not quite 'love', but Stevie does a variation of this when she tells David that she can't move to New York with him because she's attracted to him.
- Big Damn Kiss: Mutt pulls Alexis into one when she tries to leave.
- Black Comedy: Moira and Johnny force the pen into Andy's hand and are forcing him to sign. When Jocelyn and Ronald walk back in, they immediately pretend to have just noticed.
- Brick Joke: The final shot of the season is Schitt's Creek's "Don't worry, it's his sister!" sign.
- For Want Of A Nail: Moira and Johnny could've sold the town and left if they'd just let Andy sign rather than attempting to get a million out of him.
- Grand Romantic Gesture: Subverted. Stevie is clearly delighted when David invites her to New York with him, then learns he plans on them having a two-bedroom apartment.
- Fat Bastard: Andy Roberts is pretty large and extremely rude, calling Johnny a "douche" before they've even met.
- Hollywood Heart Attack: Surprisingly averted for the most part. Andy makes no reference to arm or chest pain and just sweats for a while before unexpectedly keeling over at the dinner table.
- Jabba Table Manners: Andy, especially at Roland and Jocelyn's house.'I've got to watch a pig eat!
- Of Corpse He's Alive: Johnny and Moira pretend not to notice Andy falling unconscious while trying to make him sign.
- Screw This, I'm Outta Here: David at the end of the episode.
- Tempting Fate: Moira flirting with Andy to get him to give them more results in them getting nothing.
- With Friends Like These...: Although it's been hinted at many times before, we learn again that all of David's friends before Schitt's Creek were assholes and he finally admits it to Stevie.
