Tropes That Appear In This Chapter:
- Adaptation Expansion: While it is implied that canon!Donnie gave Leo mutagenic medicine for the sake of expediency (and to give an explanation why there would be mutants in the area), here he gives him mutagenic medicine because he was mutated in a heavily diluted mutagen, meaning that his weakened state is the result of a Slow Transformation and that he won't heal completely unless his mutation finishes.
- Call-Back: The chapter starts with Leo hearing his brothers regaling their tales about him "The Stories We Share" while he's out of it.
- For Want Of A Nail: While in "Within The Woods" the Creep turned Raphael into a plant, here he accelerated Raph's mutation, turning him more and more into a non-humanoid turtle.
- Let Us Never Speak of This Again: When Leo asks if anything exciting happened while he was out, everyone looks at each other before giving a resounding "Nope."
- Shout-Out: During their fight with The Creep, Donnie manages to throw the jar of mutagen to Mikey, who they mocks him by shouting "I've got a jar of dirt! I've got a jar of dirt! And guess what's inside it!"
