Adaptation Expansion: Not only is Sir Malachi a member and Mondo Gecko (or just Jason) join it prematurely, here we are introduced to how Kurtzman and Dr. Rockwell join them.
Animalistic Abomination: While all mutants can qualify as this from one level or another, special mention goes to the Hunterror, a monstrous bear/spider/reptilian mutant the Kraang made to track down the remaining unmutated humans in Kraang-occupied New York.
A Day in the Limelight: This chapter focuses on the Mighty Mutanimals and their direct fight against the Kraang during their occupation of New York.
Fantastic Racism: While the human refugees the Mutanimals took in are grateful for the shelter, supplies and protection they provide, most of them are still skittish and fearful of them by virtue of being mutants. This irks Jason to no end (him being the only member any of them interact with since he is human), especially since his parents are still convinced they will eat them at any moment.
Wham Episode: Tang Shen and Splinter are still alive, the latter in a comatose state being looked after by the former.
