Recap: Sailor Moon Crystal Ep 03 Rei Sailor Mars
Rei Hino is a miko working at the Hikawa Shrine. She is separated from common folk by the fact that she has Psychic Powers. In fact, she is blamed for several disappearances aboard the "Demon 6:00 Bus", the bus which passes her shrine at 6:00 before vanishing. She and her new "friend" Usagi must find out exactly what's happening with the Demon 6:00 Bus, and how to stop it.

Tropes used in this episode:

  • All of the Other Reindeer: Rei is ostracized by most other people due to her psychic abilities.
  • Badass Boast: Rei as she dispels Jadeite's attempt to freeze her alive with her own willpower even before her sigil appears, completed with a smirk on her face.
    Rei: I've got powers, too!
  • Bi the Way: Usagi seems to be infatuated not only with Tuxedo Mask and Mamoru, but with every single Senshi's looks as well, which is in line with the manga. At one point when she's looking at Rei for the first time she gets actual hearts in her eyes.
  • Blatant Lies: When Identified by Rei, Usagi denies it.
  • Bullying a Dragon: The women visiting the shrine believe in Rei's supernatural powers and think she's responsible for the disappearances. So, naturally, they see fit to antagonize her over it.
  • Crush Blush: When Usagi accidentally sits next to Mamoru on the bus, she attempts to hide that she's doing this...by holding Luna up in front of her face.
  • Lady of War: This incarnation of Sailor Mars.note
  • Head Pet: Luna finds a nice resting spot on Usagi's head this episode.
  • Ship Tease/Villainous Crush: As in the original manga, Jadeite expresses an attraction toward Rei after he captures her.
