Recap / SMG4's Mario Bloopers Uncanny Mr Mario

Go To

Mario starts off with a great day but then... 👹

Mario is trapped in a simulation in which his day starts off good but turns... uncanny. And the mastermind is none other than Mr. Incredible himself!

  • Adaptational Villainy: Mr. Incredible, driven mad by the Uncanny Mr. Incredible meme, traps Mario in a Lotus-Eater Machine to force him to take his place, a far cry from the original Pixar superhero.
  • Bait-and-Switch: This video seemingly confirmed some popular SMG4 theories about Mario being one out of many clones and his world being fake until it's revealed to be a mind simulation. However, this is only the case for Mario's perspective, as long time fans and those who watched the Genesis Arc will know that Mario does live in a fake world.
  • Beat Them at Their Own Game: The final battle has both Mario and Mr. Incredible abusing the simulation in an attempt to overpower each other.
  • Big Bad: Mr. Incredible, who wants Mario to take his place as the one who suffers becoming uncanny.
  • Big "NO!": Mr. Incredible when Mario changes his canny level to "UwU" and his personality is getting taken over.
  • Brainwashing: Mario figures out that he can stop Mr. Incredible by setting Mr. Incredible's canny level as "UwU," directly manipulating Mr. Incredible's emotions and making him act kawaii.
  • Dream Emergency Exit: Mario ends up being Driven to Suicide upon learning his world wasn't real... only to wake up and discover he was in a simulation the whole time. Then Mr. Incredible sees him awake and tries to force Mario back, but the machine glitches and the real episode begins...
  • Driven to Suicide: Mario when he finds out his world is fake. This ends up resulting in a Dream Emergency Exit.
  • "Eureka!" Moment: During the glitched version of Mario's simulation, Mario remembers that he's stuck in a simulation and that the machine was malfunctioning. He then figures out how to manipulate the simulation for his pleasure.
  • Lotus-Eater Machine: Mario is trapped in a mind simulation set up by Mr. Incredible.
  • Mood Whiplash: The reveal that Mario was in a mind simulation, making everything he learned earlier likely irrelevant.
  • Real Life Writes the Plot: Mr. Incredible was tortured by the uncanny memes people have been making, so he tries to make Mario take his place.
  • Serial Escalation: Mario becomes canny, then uncanny as he discovers that his world is fake, then it's revealed that information is irrelevant because he was in a mind simulation, he's put back in the simulation, except the machine malfunctions and everything gets crazier, Mario begins to exploit the simulation, then Mr. Incredible joins Mario in the simulation to fight him. At this point, you'll have forgotten about that Surprisingly Creepy Moment in the first half.
  • Surprisingly Creepy Moment: The first half of the episode has Mario brought to believe that nothing is real and ends with Mario Driven to Suicide. Thankfully, it turns out Mario was just trapped in a Lotus-Eater Machine.
  • Uncomfortable Elevator Moment: In the climax, when Mr. Incredible is taking Mario to the top of a skyscraper to drop him, they go in an elevator, resulting in both of their canny levels returning to neutral while they do nothing until the elevator opens, making their canny levels go back to where they were before entering the elevator as Mr. Incredible prepares to drop Mario.
