Big Brother Chuckie

Chuckie is protective of Kimi.

"Angelicon" provides examples of:

  • Attack of the 50-Foot Whatever: In the babies' Imagine Spot, Angelica is Angelicon, a gigantic version of herself who terrorizes New York city.
  • Berserk Button: Taking her Cynthia doll is one for Angelica. As Kimi was the newest rugrat at the time, she did not know about this, which is why the other babies had to warn her not to play with Cynthia.
  • Big Applesauce: The babies' Imagine Spot takes place in New York City, as evidenced by the Empire State Building and even the World Trade Center.note
  • Big Brother Instinct: At the end of the episode, Kimi (much to the shock of the other kids) has a lot of fun playing with Angelica and runs after her to try playing with her some more. Chuckie runs after his sister, trying to convince her not to do so.
  • Companion Cube:
    • This episode marks the first appearance of Superthing, a superhero doll made from an oven mitt, which is Kimi's favorite toy.
    • Angelica's Cynthia doll as well. When Kimi sees her, she takes her and tries to make her fly. This angers Angelica and sets this episode's plot in motion.
  • Disney Villain Death: A downplayed example; in the babies' Imagine Spot, Angelica falls off the Empire State Building after the babies shoot her down. In reality, she slides down the treehouse's slide and lands safely on some padding at the end.
  • Imagine Spot: The babies have one where Angelica is Angelicon and terrorizes New York City.
  • "King Kong" Climb: Angelica as Angelicon climbs up the Empire State Building (in reality, the babies' treehouse) to get Cynthia at the top. When she reaches the top, the babies imagine themselves as airplane pilots trying to shoot her down.
  • Treehouse of Fun: Stu and Chas build a treehouse in Chuckie's backyard for the babies to play in.

"Dil's Binkie" provides examples of:

  • Cool Board: In the playground, one kid is seen riding a skateboard, which launches Dil's binkie into the air as it runs over it.
  • Filthy Fun: After Dil's binkie is launched into the air by Tommy's jack-in-the-box, Phil and Lil can be seen playing happily in a mud puddle.
  • Formula-Breaking Episode: This episode focuses on Dil's binkie as it travels across the neighborhood, and while the show's characters are present, there are minimal amounts of dialogue from them.

"Big Brother Chuckie" provides examples of:

  • Big Brother Instinct: Now that Chuckie is an older brother, he has to protect Kimi from dangerous things. Since Kimi's as adventurous as Chuckie is cowardly, Chuckie's worried that he won't be a good older brother and even begins worrying that Kimi doesn't really need him to protect her. Fortunately, when he sees two boys kicking sand at each other, and some of the sand lands on Kimi, he confronts the two boys and asks them to watch out for Kimi (the boys apologize for this, not realizing that they were so close to Kimi).
  • Cowardly Lion: Throughout the episode, Chuckie runs away when he sees something dangerous, even though Kimi's not in any real danger. Near the end of the episode, when he sees two boys kicking sand at each other and some of the sand landing on Kimi, he works up the courage to tell the boys to leave her alone. Fortunately for him, the boys mean no harm to Kimi, apologize, and walk away.
  • Dirty Coward: In Chuckie's second Imagine Spot, he sees Kimi wrapped in a snake's coils, and runs away when he sees the snake, leaving Kimi to suffer. Fortunately, in reality, Kimi's just wearing a feather boa and is in no real danger.
  • Imagine Spot:
    • When Kimi loses her ball under Chuckie's bed and crawls underneath to find it, he imagines that he's in a cave.
    • When Kimi goes into the closet, Chuckie imagines that he's in a jungle and Kimi is wrapped in a snake's coils. In reality, Kimi is wearing a feather boa.
    • When Kimi ventures down into the basement, Chuckie imagines the basement is a dungeon and the furnace is a giant robot head.
    • When Chuckie sees two boys kicking sand at each other and some of the sand landing on Kimi, he imagines himself as a knight-in-training having to stand up to two rogue knights to save Kimi as a princess.
  • Masculine Girl, Feminine Boy: Kimi and Chuckie, respectively. Like Tommy, Kimi is very adventurous and will often wander into strange territory to retrieve her missing things. Chuckie, on the other hand, is very cowardly and if he loses something, he prefers to leave it where it is. Nonetheless, when Kimi wanders into strange territory, he will go in to make sure she's safe.
  • Oh, Crap!: Betty and the Finsters are rightfully horrified when they see that Kimi has climbed up a tree and is sitting on a breaking branch—fortunately, the branch doesn't break off completely and Kimi's able to make it down just fine, perfectly unharmed.
  • Snakes Are Sinister: Chuckie imagines the feather boa Kimi is wearing as a snake who wraps her in its coils.
