Recap / Rick And The Loud House Chapter 26 Rick And The Casagrandes

Go To

With the Galactic Federation gone, Rick, Lincoln, and Lori welcome Ronnie Anne's family into the neighborhood.

Rick & Morty episode: Raising Gazorpazorp

Loud House episode: The Loudest Mission: Relative Chaos, Roll Model with the Casagrandes

  • Adaptational Context Change:
    • Sid and the Changs moved to Royal Woods instead of Great Lakes (as in the original show) as it was destroyed by the Galactic Federation.
    • Lincoln and Lori appear in this adaptation of "Roll Model", brought by Rick to visit the Casagrandes.
    • Ronnie Anne convinces Mar-sha to return herself, Rick and Carl home by reasoning to not judge all males unfairly because their species' males suck. In canon, Summer convinces her by revealing her top is made by men.
    • Ronnie Anne and Carl go with Rick on a classic Rick and The Loud House adventure in the Gazorpian world. So, rather than because of Ronnie saving Mr. Nakamura's dog from being attacked by a squirrel, Carl calls Ronnie a hero because she defended him from a male Gazorpian trying to kill him.
  • Adaptational Late Appearance: Mr. Goldenfold makes his debut in this episode, a couple of seasons late from his canon episode debut. He also replaces Mr. Bolhofner as the school's math teacher.
  • Adaptational Nice Guy: While in canon, Rick C-137 openly expresses his Straw Misogynist attitude and is offensive to both Summer and the Gazorpians. Here, Rick L-137 does not object whatever sexism he has towards them and Ronnie Anne. His obnoxious Toilet Humor is also ommitted as a result.
    • Downplayed with Mar-sha, however. While she's still a straw sexist who won't hesitate to kill any non-beholden male on sight, she's now a Reasonable Authority Figure who is convinced about the good in all species males in the universe, courtesy of Ronnie Anne.
  • Adapted Out: Obviously, there is no Gazorpian-Human baby in the chapter nor there is a Gazorpian sex bot, due to its obscenities not being fit to be adapted.
    • Mr. Nakamura and his dog don't appear as Ronnie and Carl instead went with Rick.
  • A Day in the Limelight: This is the first chapter to focus on Ronnie Anne being Rick's travelling companion and sidekick (his "Morty" in other words), rather than the usual Louds.
  • Butt-Monkey: Carl can't catch a break. First,he gets mocked by Rick for being a Casanova Wannabe, then later is nearly killed by a sexist race of alien women just for being a boy.
  • Casanova Wannabe: Carl tries hitting on Lori, then later on the female Gazorpians, all of which unsurprisingly futile, the latter only resulting in him nearly getting killed, much to Rick's annoyance.
  • "Could Have Avoided This!" Plot: As Carl confesses, the whole thing could've been averted hadn't he messed with Rick's portal gun.
  • Does Not Know His Own Strength: Ronnie Anne has no idea of what's being done to her system just to protect a theme park inside, which provided her with Super-Strength. Rick then quips about using her as a human shield.
  • Head Desk: Lori after seing Rick go on a crazy rant about The Cleveland Show, on the dinner table.
  • I'm Not a Hero, I'm...: Ronnie tries telling Carl that she's not who he thinks she is, like in canon. She later comes on terms with it.
  • Old Shame: Ronnie feels ashamed about her bullying Lincoln in the past, also citing to have been a bullying victim herself. Carl can't help but feel sorry.
  • Pet the Dog: For all the snark Rick throws at the Casagrandes, he NEVER pokes fun at CJ and is more friendly to him than the others.
  • Take That!: Rick makes a two-for-one shot at The Cleveland Show and its parent show Family Guy. He accuses the former of being just a pointless carbon copy of the later centered around what should be side characters (he's also accusing the Casagrandes of being the same thing in regards to the Loud Family). Then, when Carlos says he doesn't watch Family Guy, Rick says the show's just become "trash" anyway.
  • Spanner in the Works: Lincoln inadvertently finds out that Rick has gotten Ronnie involved in a crazy adventure while inside her body, when he shouldn't have otherwise. He then tells Lori about it.
  • Straw Feminism: The female Gazorpians. Ronnie Anne convinces their leader to send them home by telling her about fairly judging sexes in all species.
  • Super-Strength: Ronnie Anne unknowingly gained this power as a result of defensive measures undertaken in her body to keep Anatomy Park safe and sound. This allows her to protect Carl from the Gazorpians.
  • Suspiciously Similar Substitute: Mr. Goldenfold replaces Mr. Bolhofner as the Royal Woods Middle School's math teacher at the end of the episode. He gets assigned there because of the Galactic Federation wrecking his home town.
  • This Is Gonna Suck: After Mr. Goldenfold makes his debut, his Large Ham already in play, Lincoln remarks that this year would get weirder.
  • Time Skip: Two weeks have past since Rick destroyed the Galactic Federation.
  • What the Hell, Hero?: Lori calls out Rick for seemingly taking Carl along for another dangerous adventure. Classic old Rick of course, in response, attempts to Loop Hole Abuse his way out of taking responsibility, but then Carl confesses about his culpability.
  • Would Hurt a Child: Mar-sha has no reservations about murdering Carl simply because he is a "savage" male.
