Mordecai and Rigby pursue new bikes and apparel, hoping for an increase in their popularity to make Benson admit they are cool, but are put on trial for being too cool to live.
Tropes used in this episode:
- Backfire on the Witness Stand: In a final attempt to get themselves acquitted, Mordecai and Rigby have their lawyer summon Benson as a witness, fully expecting that he will never, ever admit that they are cool since that would mean losing the bet. Unfortunately, once the judge warns Benson that he is under oath and thus forbidden to lie, Benson relents and admits that Mordecai and Rigby are cool, thus sealing Mordecai and Rigby's fate.
- The Bet: Benson makes a bet with Mordecai and Rigby that he wil give them back the high-end cart he confiscated if he ever admits that they are cool. Unfortunately when Mordecai and Rigby win, Benson doesn't honor his end of the bet.
- Bond One-Liner: "Court is ajourned, losers." Mordecai says as he and Rigby throw their bikes at the teleporter satellite as they themselves teleport away with Benson, destroying the evil space station they were being tried at.
- Felony Misdemeanor: Mordecai and Rigby are sentenced to death for being too cool. Luckily Benson saves them.
- Gone Horribly Right: Rigby and Mordecai go out of their way to become as cool as they possibly can. It works, but too well since they become too cool to live.
- HAHAHA No: At the end, when Mordecai asks if he and Rigby can get the cart back because they won the bet by having Benson admit that they’re cool, Benson responds with this trope.
- My God, What Have I Done?: Benson has this reaction when he realizes that his answer at the witness stand convinced the judge to sentence Mordecai and Rigby to execution.
- Not Helping Your Case: When the trial is making Mordecai and Rigby look guilty of being too cool, Gary asks for a surprise witness; Benson. Mordecai and Rigby are sure that Benson would not say that they’re too cool in court, only for Benson to admit that they’re the two coolest guys that he knows. This has the two sentenced to execution for being “too cool.”
