Recap / Regular Show S 02 Ep 06 My Mom

Go To

Under Benson's rules, Mordecai and Rigby are forced to work with Muscle Man, a loud, crude, green, pink-eyed, overweight man who loves making Double Entendre-laden jokes about his mom.

My Mom provides examples of...

  • A Day in the Limelight: Muscle Man takes center stage as important character for the episode and showing why Benson keeps him around as a Groundskeeper.
  • Dude, Not Funny!: Mordecai and Rigby were not amused by Muscle Man revealing that scaring them was part of a joke and that the picture of "his mom" was his rear end.
  • Hypocritical Heartwarming: Only Muscle Man can make fun of his mom. Whoever else does it will face his wrath. Or so it seems...
Muscle Man (to Mordecai and Rigby) Are you making fun of my mom?! You're making fun of my mom! No one makes fun of my mom!
  • I Ate WHAT?!: Mordecai and Rigby are forced to eat a picture of what seems to be Muscle Man's mom, but it turns out to be his butt-cheek. They're absolutely disgusted when they find this out.
Muscle Man: I just squished it up to look like a woman's face.
    Mordecai: Agh, sick!
  • Moral Myopia: Muscle Man repeatedly tells insulting jokes about his mom, but when Mordecai and Rigby start doing it, he doesn't take it very well. Subverted when it's revealed he was just pranking them.
  • Oh, Crap!: Mordecai and Rigby when Muscle Man sends his brother over.
  • Poor Communication Kills: Muscle Man informs Benson that he's going to stop and pick up some lunch; asking if it's cool with Benson allowing it knowing that Muscle Man will get the job done.
Rigby: Benson is never that cool with us.
Muscle Man: What? Don't you guys check in?
    Mordecai: Uh, no?
Muscle Man: You gotta check in! Benson's the boss, he needs to know where you are at all times.
  • Your Mom: Per usual, Muscle Man inverts this trope multiple times, but Mordecai and Rigby play this straight when they try to prove to Muscle Man what the joke should be.
