Tropes

  • Arson, Murder, and Jaywalking:
  • Black Comedy Burst: Wash's funeral cannon company.
  • Call-Back:
  • Cliffhanger: The episode ends with Genkins escaping back into the Everwhen after destroying the Time-Gun, thus causing Donut and Wash to lose their best chance of easily fixing the timeline.
  • Continuity Cavalcade:
  • Delayed Reaction:
  • "Eureka!" Moment:
  • Insurance Fraud: Because Wash kept coming in for a bullet wound he technically did not have, Dr. Grey soon got "creative" with his medical assessment, and the insurance money is enough to pay for a new hospital wing and a funeral cannon company.
  • Leaning on the Fourth Wall:
  • Loophole Abuse:
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business:
  • Shout-Out: The “quantum juxtaposition” Wash is initially facing as a Paradox Person is very similar to those suffering from “Tear Sickness” in BioShock Infinite.
  • Spotting the Thread:
    • How Donut gets Wash to stop shifting between Loopy-Untreated and Sane-Treated; he forces Washington to realize that he both remembers being shot and remembers not being shot, and the recognizing of the paradox stabilizes him.
    • Wash himself does this when he notices a flaw in Chrovos' apparent strategy. She apparently tricked Donut into going into the Everwhen in a doomed attempt to save the Reds and Blues just so he would create more paradoxes, except they know through his success with Wash that that works. So why would she tells him about it at all? It's because she was trying to prevent him from going somewhere else, or more specifically somewhen else.
  • Tranquil Fury: After Wash figures out how to undo everything, by using Donut's Time-Gun to intercept the Reds and Blues after he was shot, but before they leave to save him and cause the first paradox, Chrovos just growls "Listen to me you little shit-" in barley contained anger.
  • Verbal Backspace:
