Tropes
- Actually Pretty Funny: Carolina is amused by Tucker and Sarge's Unsportsmanlike Gloating toward the Charon soldiers, but gets them to stop before it goes into more Cool and Unusual Punishment territory.
- Get Out!: Kimball tells Grif to get out multiple times as he's making a nuisance of himself. Once her patience wears thin, she orders a nearby guard to take Grif away for dishwashing duty.
- It's All About Me: Grif searches for Kimball to complain to her about not being allowed second helpings in the mess hall, and interrupts her argument with Doyle acting like his issue is of bigger concern.
- I Will Punish Your Friend for Your Failure: Because Grif skipped out on practice, Wash forces the others to make extra laps, with the intent of making Grif feel guilty. It doesn't work.
- Teeth-Clenched Teamwork: It's clear, from bickering between unnamed soldiers to their leaders, that both the Federal Army and the New Republic still have some differences that need to be worked out.
