A flock of snow geese unexpectedly land in Jet's backyard. The kids observe their behaviors in regards to migration.

  • Binocular Shot: A number of them are used as the kids use binoculars to observe the snow geese.
  • The Cameo: Mitchell and Mr. Peterson make cameos in this episode.
  • Cartoon Juggling: The shower kind is used when Jet juggles meatballs.
  • Hidden Depths: It is revealed that Dr. Rafferty used to study birds and is a bird expert.
  • Instantly Proven Wrong: After Jet states that Hank is the only snow goose in the yard, a number of other snow geese arrive.
  • Lampshade Hanging: In the winter episodes "Holidays in Boxwood Terrace" and "Endless Summer", there's not much snow on the ground in Boxwood Terrace. In this episode, this is lampshaded when it is revealed that Boxwood Terrace doesn't get much snow, which explains the lack of snow.
  • Meaningful Name: The first snow goose that appears is named Hank because he makes a honking sound.
  • My Friends... and Zoidberg: The snow geese are collectively referred to as "The Hanks and Cynthia".
  • Odd Name Out: All of the snow geese are named Hank, except for Cynthia. Mindy insists that they can't all be named Hank.
  • Planet of Steves: With the exception of Cynthia, all the snow geese are called Hank.
  • Scooby Stack: Jet, Sean, Sydney, Mindy, and Sunspot form this type of stack when they spot the first snow goose in Jet's yard.
  • Shout-Out: The episode title is a reference to the song "Freebird" by Lynyrd Skynyrd.
  • The Smurfette Principle: Cynthia is the only female snow goose.
  • Suddenly Fluent in Gibberish: Sunspot turns out to be an expert at communicating with the snow geese.
  • You Are Number 6: All of the other Hanks are referred to as "Hank Two", "Hank Three", and so on.

Sean's Robotic Arm:

"Whoo, who knew a stick, a bubble wand, some tape, and a dog treat could join together like this?"

Mindy's roughhousing causes Sean's prized Neil Armstrong figure to fall in a hole. The kids come up with an enterprising solution - a 'robotic' arm of sorts to help rescue the figure.

  • Broken Record: "Help, help, help, help, help!"
  • Character Development: Discussed. Jet points out that he's been getting good at pretending to be an Earthie. So much so that he forgot he could use his robot arms to reach into the crack and get Neil.
  • Companion Cube: Not only does Sean talk to his Neil Armstrong figure as if he were a real person, but Mitchell is revealed to have one of his own - a Sherlock Holmes action figure.
  • Continuity Nod: Cody is motivated to dig the hole by food, a nod to the earlier episode "Pet Sounds".
  • Crazy Enough to Work: Sydney explicitly states that Sean's idea to combine the various items together to make a robotic arm is this.
  • Good News, Bad News: Jet delivers this in the form of "Good News, Better News". The "Good News" (which is actually bad news) is that Jet's broken Bortronian robot arms have been sent back to Bortron 7 for parts, which will take a week even with expedited intergalactic shipping. Then Jet reveals that there are no better news.
  • Here We Go Again!: At the end of the episode, Cody runs off with Sydney's Commander Cressida figure and puts it in his hiding spot. The kids use the robotic arm to take it back.
  • Hidden Depths:
    • This episode shows just how important Sean's Neil Armstrong figure is to him, having been with him on a roller coaster, a bike, and on his first sleepover.
    • Mitchell has his own action figure.
  • Imagine Spot: Sean has one where he's on the moon dressed as Neil Armstrong and Jet, Sydney, and Mindy are in their regular space-suits. Sean gives them a motivational speech and convinces them that they should combine the various parts together to make a robotic arm to retrieve Neil.
  • Ship Tease: Mindy with Mitchell. Mindy convinces him to help Sean by playing with him. Mitchell is initially excited about Mindy having a case, but then gets embarrassed for a bit. Later, when Mitchell arrives to help (with his Sherlock Holmes figure in tow), Mindy gives him a huge hug and is clearly happy to see him.
  • Unwitting Instigator of Doom: Mindy slams her toy rocket on the seesaw, causing Neil Armstrong to fly in the air and fall into the crevice.
