Round and Round

The gang learns about how all the planets revolve around the sun and rotate at the same time.
  • Badass Adorable: Implied. Mindy, who is four, takes jiu-jitsu lessons.
  • Early-Installment Weirdness:
    • Mindy mentions taking jiu-jitsu lessons, which is a weird one-off line never mentioned again.
    • Jet mentions having a grandfather, claiming that Grandpa Propulsion is like Jupiter (big and gassy) after dinner. This is also never mentioned again in later episodes.
  • Glass Smack and Slide: Sunspot is floating in the saucer. When the saucer stops at Mercury, he smacks into the window and slowly slides off.
  • It's All About Me: Mindy gets to be egotistical in the episode, since she plays the sun and wants to be called 'Queen Sun.' She even says the trope name word-for-word.
  • It's the Best Whatever, Ever!: Jet says that Saturn is the coolest counterclockwise-rotating planet ever.
  • Loud Gulp: When the saucer zooms into outer space, Sean gulps loudly, but Sydney comforts him.
  • Match Cut: The episode opens with a shot of the Earth, then cuts to a shot of Jet's Earth model.
  • Spectacular Spinning: After explaining how planets both orbit and rotate, Face spins around to exit.

The Plant From Bortron 7

Jet tries to grow seeds from Bortron 7 under the light of the sun, leading to unexpected results.
  • Admiring the Abomination: Jet is in awe at the Botanical Abomination, and doesn't get scared of it once. When the plant breaks away from its pot, Jet even says "Son?!?"
  • Alien Non-Interference Clause: Carrot and Celery warn Jet that as Bortronian travel writers, they are not supposed to interfere with Earth, and letting a giant planet run loose is definitely interfering.
  • Art Shift: When the giant plant breaks away from the pot, it's drawn in a comic style.
  • Attack of the 50-Foot Whatever: Jet's Bortronian plant becomes enormous after it grows under the light of the Sun. It also becomes a monstrous kaiju-like creature.
  • Botanical Abomination: Jet grows a Bortronian plant under the light of the Earth's sun. However, it becomes a huge, monstrous plant that rampages the town.
  • Diegetic Soundtrack Usage: Jet hums the show's theme song while filling a bucket with water.
  • I Always Wanted to Say That: Sean proclaims "There's not a moment to lose!" then mutters that he's always wanted to say that.
  • "King Kong" Climb: While grabbing Sunspot, the giant plant stands on top of the treehouse and pounds its chest.
  • Men Use Violence, Women Use Communication: Sydney assumes that the giant plant has a head, and offers a peaceful solution to the problem by wanting to talk to the plant. But Sean offers a violent solution by wanting to get a big pair of clippers and snip the plant. They keep arguing about it until the plant runs away, most likely because of Sean wanting to snip the plant.
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: Just when the kids get the plant back to normal size, Mindy announces that she has planted the rest of Jet's seeds, ending the episode with the kids screaming.
  • No Ending: The episode ends with Mindy announcing that she has planted more seeds. Then, more giant plants emerge, and the kids scream in terror. That's it. That's the ending.
  • Primal Chest-Pound: The giant plant pounds its chest while standing on top of the treehouse.
  • Secret Identity: This is the first episode that mentions that Jet's alien identity must be kept a secret. Sydney doesn't want anyone to see the runaway plant, because then it would expose Jet's alien identity.
  • Shout-Out: Many fans say that the plant is like Godzilla, but it's really more like King Kong, another Kaiju. Like how King Kong grabbed a blonde woman and climbed the Empire State Building, the giant plant grabs Sunspot and climbs the treehouse, then does the signature Primal Chest-Pound.
  • Split-Screen Phone Call: Jet has this with Carrot and Celery.
  • Totally Radical: "Hey, daddy-o! What's shaking?"
  • Watch Where You're Going!: Jet, Sean, and Sydney are chasing the giant plant. However, the giant plant escapes from them just in time for them to crash into each other.
