More Than One Moon
Mindy is surprised to learn that there's more than one moon in the solar system.- Captain's Log: Sean records a few astronaut logs in the episode about his first time going to Mars.
- Edible Theme Naming: Jet calls Deimos and Phobos "Potato" and "Peanut," since they resemble those foods.
- Imagine Spot: At the start of the episode, Mindy imagines herself talking to the man in the moon.
- Inherently Funny Words: Everyone considers the names of Mars' moons, Phobos and Deimos, to be funny-sounding.
- The Man in the Moon: Sydney tells the story of the Man in the Moon to Mindy.
Visit to Mom's Office
Sean takes Jet to meet his mom at the Deep Space Array, but he and Sydney must prevent Jet from exposing his alien identity.- All Animals Are Dogs: Dr. Rafferty thinks Sunspot is a dog. He shows her his pedigree that proves he's a "Bortronian mutt."
- All of the Other Reindeer: Implied. When Jet is telling Dr. Rafferty that he is an alien, she says that she felt like an alien when she was a kid, which implies that she was teased and felt left out as a kid.
- Animation Bump: Much like "Jet 2," "Sunspot's Night Out," and "A Visit to the Planetarium," this segment has much better animation compared to the rest of the first 15 episodes. The colors are vivid and the models are crisp looking. All four of these episodes were animated by Digitales as opposed to Hot and Sour, and they would take over full-time starting with "Solar System Bake Off."
- Cannot Keep a Secret: The other kids remind Jet that he must keep his alien identity a secret or else he'll be taken away, but Jet runs his mouth anyway.
- Child Prodigy: Lampshaded when Dr. Bergs compliments Jet's vast knowledge of space for such a young age.
- Deus ex Machina: Jet openly tells Dr. Rafferty that he is an alien from Bortron 7, but luckily, Dr. Rafferty thinks that Jet is pretending to be an alien due to "feeling" like one.
- Eyebrow Waggle: Jet waggles his eyebrows at Dr. Rafferty
- Mundane Object Amazement: Jet is amazed by drinking fountains and printers.
- The Name Is Bond, James Bond: How Jet introduces himself to Dr. Bergs.Jet: Propulsion, Jet Propulsion. How d'ya do, sir?
- Precocious Crush: It's really easy to think that Jet has a crush on Dr. Rafferty. When he first sees her, he immediately gives her a big hug (surprising Dr. Rafferty, annoying Sean, and saddening Sydney). He even calls her "Dr. Sean's Mom" even though he knows her last name is Rafferty. He is later seen smiling widely at her and raising his eyebrows trying to catch her attention. To top it off, he seemed all too excited to tell her that he is from Bortron 7.
- Suspiciously Specific Denial: "It's not like I'm from another planet called Bortron 7 or anything!"
- Weirdness Censor: When Jet tells Dr. Rafferty that he's an alien, Rafferty takes that to mean that he feels like an alien.
- You Remind Me of X: After Jet blabs to Dr. Rafferty that he's from another planet, she says that Jet reminds her of her when she was a kid, since she felt like an alien too. She appreciates how he's got it all worked out, unlike her in her youth, apparently.
